I know I've been away from live chat for a while but, I'm wondering why I'm seeing, for example;

"I’d" = I have

you’re = you

Hey Miss. Sluethy, I see you are in good hands so far.

Telma

Yep, it was definitely from people on iOS devices.

I appreciate you stopping by all the same!

thank you!

I have a similar issue with apostrophes and iOS devices. Sometimes it displays properly and others it puts an odd character in its place.

I’m sure it’s related to language/keyboard selection but I’m not sure which is the proper one to use.

I had this happen on another platform but, I can't for the life of me remember which it was.

I was going to ask NinJay earlier in chat but, I had to step away.

I am going to hit up my tech superiors later in my virtual world platform. If someone doesn't suss it out before us....I'll be back with my findings for both of our questions!

I do love a good mystery...heck, even a mediocre mystery ha! ;)

What? Who Called me? lol

LOL, do you know why we get funky characters in place of apostrophes and such in live chat?

daaaaaaaaayyyyumm! That was almost spooooky if it wasn't so hilarious!

You have been rung-ith and hath heeded zee call!

.let’s see what happens next!! *giggles wildly!*

In some cases, when you copy stuff over from a Google doc or MS word, it carries over the funky formatting.

e.g.
" vs “

I merely see the matrix and can tell when thy magi-ness is spoken in voice or text. lol

That ^ I understand. I'm talking about in live chat here though. It's not occasionally it's all the time.

I thought maybe I messed with a setting or, a covert alien wants me to learn a new language before they visit me.

For example:

merlynmac 32 minutes ago
@Dan53 uncheck the show avatar option and save the settings...let’s see if it at least removes the messed up image.

That's a few minutes ago in live chat.

The issue I experience is with typing the ‘ in contractions like it’s or we’re. Many times it gets changed to €â€. I’ve reached out to others when I see it in what they’ve typed and so far it seems to be related iOS devices.

That's what I was thinking too...because you said you were running an iOS phone I was wondering if you were currently using that or, your MAC.....

BOoM soooooooooolving a mysssssssssssstery!

Heeheee thank you!

Yep, I’m on an iPad right now.

*bows with a smirk and a giggle*

I Thank thee Your Magi-ness as well.

*goes to run security diagnostics on her Matrix portal* lolz!

*Parks the Mystery Van* I appreciate you. Until the next quest!

I bid you a smooth morn-eve-ternoon ;)

Someone just stopped by to comment and when I was about to leave the page I noticed parts of the 'symbols' in my original post now have 'TM' in the middle of them.

This just in : iOS Trademarking alien language! lolz

My girlfriend, Jetta, asked me today about returns of items that were (hypothetically) purchased through my Amazon affiliate link.

I have heard it discussed but I couldn'

Yenomym has the same recollection that I have. The commission is paid within 30 days (in the month following the purchase). If the item is returned, the commission is deducted from future commission payouts.

Thank you so much!

I really appreciate you taking the time to read and reply

If I remember correctly, Amazon will pay a commission when a purchase is made. If the purchase is returned, the commission will be deducted from your pay.
Marilyn

Thank you so much for reading and replying.

I greatly appreciate it!

If the item is returned they will take back the commission. I have several orders that didn't get shipped and I won't see a commission on that either.

Marty

Thank you kindly for reading and replying Marty!

So, they pay you instantly? Do you wait to withdraw your earnings until a certain amount of time has passed?

I really appreciate your time

Hey Fyre, They record your earnings but you have to meet the threshold before they send it to you. They also charge you for their ads that you put on your site. How do you like that? You sell their products and they charge you for the opportunity.

I think when you get the traffic there is money to be made. I have seen people getting good checks so I am continuing to use their native ads.

Marty:-)

I hear you..I worked for Amazon for a very brief stint.

It's an interesting story but, suffice it to say it left a terrible taste in my mouth.

So much so in fact...I have held to my boycott since December 2013. That coming from a from it's start member!

I see all the benefits and the drawbacks for sure as far as being an affiliate goes.

You rekindled one of my brainstorm ideas for targeting Amazon's overworked and underpaid minion workers to get paid by their overseers in a whole new way!

Thanks again Brother!

You don't have to go to China to see the overworked and underpaid.

When we build our dynasties we will remember to treat people fair.

I am doing this to help, and not just myself.

Appreciate you sisterI

Amen to that Marty!

I appreciate you brother!

They will remove commissions if an item is returned. And hypothetically speaking owner of an affiliate link can get in trouble and be disqualify form amazon affiliate network.

Get in trouble if a customer returns something?

I never heard of that but, I have heard of getting the boot for no sales in 90 days.

Thank you for your reply!

yes you have to have at least one sale in 90 days and it should be unrelated to you

Is this every 90 days?

I quote: "What can I return?
You may return most new, unopened items sold and fulfilled by Amazon within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. During the holidays, items shipped by Amazon between November 1st and December 31st can be returned until January 31st." Read more here

Thanks brother but, that wasn't the question's true context.

The context was in the written in detail with that fantastic MJ picture trailing it ; )

OHHHHHH the commissions! Well, what can I say? I can't read! they charge me back on returns.

Heheheee you're awesome...I was just messin' with ya

Aww shucks ma'am thanks! lol

I used the edit option instead.

I'm sorry, but I haven't encountered this problem. Sorry I can't help.
