Just in case you're an idiot like I am, let me save you a headache
If in fact you've been having difficulties with amazon links in your posts, I'd like to share a little nugget of information that I've just learnt from the brains (@RICH.) here at WA.
You must PUBLISH a post before you check to see if your amazon link is working. I've been having troubles with this for days and had no idea the post has to be published FIRST before you can check to make sure your links are working.
It could be that I'm an idiot and missed this information somewhere else. I do seem to be a day late and a dollar short on many things, so it could just be me. But, if you're frustrated because your links don't seem to be working, it could be as easy as publishing the post first before you check it.
Just thought I'd share.
Patty :)
p.s. Another "nugget" I just learned....The amazon localizer plug-in that Dom broke has been fixed by the almighty Dean.

Don't feel bad I've done the same thing too with something else, only to find out it works fine once published.
That makes me feel much better Craig, if even you can make this mistake I must not be too much of an idiot. You're brilliant! :)
Same goes for Adsense and various other embedded things! Glad you figured it out in the end.
Ask those who came back, they will tell you they started from where you are. Thank you for sharing your headache.
LOL, you're not an idiot, Patty. This kind of thing happens to us all. Just to you, a LOT. :P You have to publish the page or post because it's actually got to be live so it can make the call to the Amazon server to download the content to display. Also, occasionally, the page or post is cached at your end, so it still doesn't show even after publishing, which is why I suggest always checking the page or post in an incognito tab in Chrome. :) Rich.
LOL. It does seem to happen to me a lot, too many distractions and I'm not as good a multi-tasker as I think I am.... :P
I'm in the same line as you and Rick. I read and read and try to fix for days to no avail...it comes up in chat or I finally ask someone and it is one little teeny tiny "thing." It's how we roll ;)
Thanks Beverley but I feel like an idiot, I should've mentioned it sooner. Would've saved me many frustrations. :)
your candour does you proud. Let others follow where you have led...I feel a confessions page coming on! LOL, good post, Andy
I was struggling for days on this one little problem, I just couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. "I put the link I in the same way every time, why does it work sometimes but other times it doesn't."
I should start a "please share your idiot moments here" post then maybe I won't feel so alone! Lol
Ah, the art,of distraction, had forgotten about that one. **one minute later** Done...ow...hey, no more headache!

None of us was born knowing any of this. We all had to learn. I know I have felt like an idiot several times when learning something and come to find out it was right in front of me.
LOL. isn't it funny how that works, I'm just so grateful for live chat, it's been a life saver for me on more than one occasion. :)
