How to Block or Blacklist Comments and Spam From Your Wordpress Website
It's time for your daily dose of Wordpress Wisdom! In today's quick tutorial I'll show you how to block or blacklist spam comments from your website. As we grow our website one of the inevitabilities is receiving spam comments from bots. Sometimes they're just walls of text, maybe filled with a ton of random links, or just complete nonsense. To help block and blacklist some of this from happening again, there's an easy few steps to take and I'll show you exactly how!
As always, please feel free to share this video to anyone needing help with this. If you have any Wordpress related questions that you'd like to see me create a tutorial around feel free to send me a private message or leave me a message on my profile.
If you want to check out all my Wordpress Wisdom tutorials you can go to the WA smart search up top (magnifying glass) and type in "Wordpress Wisdom" or just head over to my blog.
Be productive!
Get to work!
I'll see you next time!

Really useful tip Eric... It's so annoying when you get them and they just keep coming back...
Defo going to be going through my spam folder.
Thanks

Hi Eric,
Some time ago I was also receiving messages similar to yours. But, since I installed the WP Armor - HoneyPot Antispam plugin, they stopped.
Now which version is the most recommended?
Do you use these steps to avoid installing a new plugin?
Thank you!
Diana.
I tend to prefer this method over adding a plugin, but it's totally up to you. With this you nip the spam in the bud.
