My Adventures Yesterday!

Well, yesterday I had a doctor's appointment. I thought once again it would be no problem to ride the bus to this appointment.

I have been to his office by bus before, if you will remember my other blog. But now I know what stop to get off on so I only have a 10 min. or less walk.

So the ride wasn't the adventure this time but the people on the bus always give me something to blob about.

I was at the hospital waiting on the bus to go back home and there is a protected crosswalk to cross the street. There was a lady there trying to cross, she would look both ways, step off the curb with one foot and begin to cross, see a car way down the street and step back on the sidewalk. This with on and on for a few .There was another lady and I on the other side on the street trying to coach her across the street. Nothing was working so when the traffic slowed I stood in the middle on the crosswalk as her crossing guard and told her to come on and cross. She didn't want to cross because a truck was coming but he was stopped because I had my hand out. I told her to come ahead because he was stopped but she was scared. Finally after much coaxing she crossed.

She wanted a bus that neither the other lady or I needed so when the bus came we got her on the bus. Asked the bus driver to make sure she got off at her stop and sent her on her way.

My adventures began at 9:30am and I didn't get home until 7pm last night. Glad Kyle hadn't given out assignments yet but I was able to read emails and give/get comments while waiting for the doctor.

That is when I wasn't on the phone calling the insurance people because the doctor's office was trying to pull one over on me and charge me way too much.

Shoo, Elaine. Looong day. That was really kind of you. Imagine living in that kind of fear?

A true WA’er you are, Elane. Good for you. I often say to my family, relatives and friends: “Do random acts of kindness”!

Awesomeness!
Mojalefa.

Hi Elaine
It was very good of you to help the lady across the road as it sounds like she was having some sort of anxiety problem. I hope that your health improves and that you don't have to keep fighting to keep the costs of your treatment down.

Best Wishes
Hazel

This lady was lucky you were there to help her out, Elaine. Such a sweet gesture on your part and, the plus is having something to blog about too. I believe you'll conquer that doctor's office billing thing too.

All the best,
Sue

Elaine, I'M very happy that made through your Adventures safe and sound. Yes, I can recall days like that.

Sounds like you had a very adventuresome day!

Hi - talk to your healthcare provider about Uber Health. It's a fairly new transportation program designed to facilitate patients getting to appointments and hospitals/physicians pay for it.

It's good you haw someone looking out for you Elaine. The Dr's offices are always trying to illegally balance bill me!

Yes Mike that is exactly what my Mom said.

A very altruistic act of kindness acting as the crossing guard Elaine, and you displayed great patience.

Good for you, and glad you could interact with the community while at the hospital.

Thanks Kaju that is just my nature to help people were I go.

Elaine, it sounds like you had an interesting, if not interesting day.

That was good of you to take charge in the crosswalk as you did.

Cheers!

Rick
