It's Easier to Keep Your Site Health in Green Than to Get It Into Green

Last week I wrote that I had achieved the best result for my blog from the WA Site Health. Almost all of the metrics were in green (100% or close to it).

I felt completely relieved because for too long I had to live with all these red and yellow circles.

It's not so hard to stay in green

Now, a week later I have found that once in green, it's not so difficult to keep it in green. Just add a bit every day to make the metrics happy and that's it.

Don't get me wrong here, though. My priority is not to keep these WA Site Health metrics in a happy state of mind. My priority is to keep my SITE healthy. These metrics just show how healthy it is.

However, there is something else that I wanted to emphasize.

Getting up to speed requires extra energy

It is the fact, pure physics, that it takes a lot more energy to get something moving than to keep it moving.

While driving my car I have noticed how accelarating significantly increases the car's consumption. On the flat road with a constant speed my car drinks very little. But try to get it into that constant speed in the first place - and you will see how thirsty it is. Three times more or so, If I am correct.

It's about energy that the car requires to get itself moving. Once it is moving, it's fine.

Or look at birds. How much they need to work to get up into the sky.

Once there though, they barely move, right?

Or take planes for example. Typically, they take about 30-40% more fuel while taking off.

The same with internet marketing, affiliate marketing, blogging, traffic, etc.

Have you noticed that those who have made it into Vegas, make it into Vegas the next year too. And the next year, etc. Because they are already moving. Inertia is carrying them. They just need some energy to keep it moving (or if they want to achieve bigger results, they need extra energy to "accelerate").

For those who are still trying to bring their blogs up to speed, well, you just need to put in that extra amount of energy that is required for taking off the ground and climbing to the higher altitudes. By the way, for planes it is way easier (and more efficient) to fly higher (there's less of air at altitude).

The same with blogging and affiliate marketing.

The bottom line

There are no shortcuts. If you want to fly (in terms of making money online), you need to take off and climb up in the first place. And both of these actions take MUCH more energy than cruising at high altitudes.

Therefore, next time you see somebody cruising up there (in terms of blogging and internet marketing), remember this - he (or she) too needed a lot of energy (hard work, determination, perspiration, etc.) to get there in the first place.

Let me encourage you - even though taking off might be hard, once you are up there, you will also cruise in full enjoyment :)

God bless you!

Love this!!! Well written and completely true :)

Ooo... Thank you for kind words, ma'am :) I am encouraged!

Glad you know it is easier to stay in green than getting there .. lol. Cheers, William.

Thank you, sir :)

To understand it, you first have to get in there. Then you can test it yourself, right? Otherwise you just have to believe what other people tell you... lol

Obviously, I knew the physics behind beforehand, but this was my personal experience... and thus rather emotional :)

Well said, great analogy.

Thank you, ma'am. Yes, that's what I learned.

well done! :)
