Ambassador - Round 2
Hi Dear Friends,
Looks like I'm making the rounds of Wealthy Affiliate Ambassador a second time around. This is an amazing feeling, It's like I am being chauffeured around in a Rolls Royce instead of driving myself in a Vauxhall.
If you're raising your eyebrows asking what is a Vauxhall? Those who live in the UK will know that this is the second most popular brand of car sold there. Quite a good car to drive. But let's get real. Rolls Royce or Vauxhall?
How Do You Become An Ambassador?
There's no magic to it. While you are building your business using the training and tools available at Wealthy Affiliate, you can become quite knowledgeable about a great deal of stuff. Stuff that other members ask questions about. You can find these questions in the Questions section and provide answers if you have them.
Write helpful blog posts. When other members respond to your post with comments and questions you get credit towards your rank.
Keep writing content for your website and request comments in that specific section located under the Website menu. Sign up to give comments to those who request it. Just remember that to qualify for one content request you need to give two.
Participate in the Live Chat area. Here is another place where you can help other members when you see them asking questions.
When you get stuck, ask for help in the Help Center as well as the Live Chat area.
There are three activities that contribute to accumulating points.
- HELPER Rank - When you help answer questions
- CREATOR Rank - When you create content in your blog and add training modules
- ACTIVITY Rank - When you stay active in commenting in blog posts of others and generally engage in a positive manner with other members such as in the Site Comments and Site Feedback areas. Welcoming new Premium members is also a good thing.
Why Did I Drop Out, And Now Return?
After being an Ambassador for a year I needed a break. It requires effort and time to do all these activities. Note that you don't have to excel in all three to rise in the ranks. It is the sum of all the points you accumulate that counts.
While away, I refocused on my website creation strategy. I still visited WA to ask questions and write the occasional blog post.
As I made a concentrated effort to build my business I noticed ai was spending more time on the Wealthy Affiliate Platform. I also noticed that when I spent LESS time on the platform, I was not doing as well as I had hoped.
Hence I decided to play a more active role on the platform. With a difference. I am not going to be fixated on staying in the top 25 without dropping off. I will enter and exit depending on what I am doing. However, I do not plan on straying too far as to be absent as long as I have been. Which was about 10 months.

I owe a big thank you to friends and members here who communicate with me in various ways. We all want to help each other to succeed. Teamwork makes the dream work as the saying goes.

I climbed to the top 200 pretty quickly. I am now 179, which I think is pretty good! I try to help others as much as I can, but a lot of times either I really don't have an answer or I've been beaten to the answer. I figure people don't want the same thing over and over, lol!

Goof that you try. You can also be active in other ways like going to site comments and request giving some. New Premium members are always streaming in. You can briefly welcome them too.
I think you are doing rather well already. Keep up the good work. Make sure you do not neglect your online business development.

Hi Stephen,
I used to own a Vauxhall Viva of the late 1960's model. The model you showed and the one I had were American influenced in design. I enjoyed owning it until I crashed it. Never the same after repairs.

Hi Edwin ... a bit of trivia; Vauxhall is actually a left-hand drive Opel and has been for 40 to 50 years now. Most British buyers don't seem to know that the German manufacturer Opel bought Vauxhall sometime in the 70s and tried to make the marque popular in the UK. It didn't catch on. That's market forces for you. So after a couple of years of trying Opel started using Opel designs in the Vauxhall factory and mainly just build LHD Vauxhall badged vehicles for the UK market. That was a great marketing decision!
As an ambassador, I go up and down like the proverbial yo-yo. I focus on answering questions, write the occasional post and don't get involved in other matters except where I'm moved to try to add value in some way.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for sharing this Vauxhall history. I enjoyed owning one. I took part in a urban road rally once when another car and mine collided around a country bend. My left side was so close to a stone country wall there was no room for me to get out of the way. I noticed the other car barreling down and knew he would hit me. My windshield got dislodged by the collision and landed behind the car that hit me unbroken! My bonnet was bent. The cost to repair it was so high the insurance company gave me a cash settlement. I used that to buy a car I can’t remember except it turned out to be a piece of junk. I liked it because it had a polished wood dashboard.
I like yoyo’s ha! I think that’s what I’ll be doing too. Going up and down from the top 25.

Polished wood eh ... that must have been a few years ago.
You'd remember if it was a Rolls, or a Bentley. Perhaps it was a Rover or even a Jaguar?
