When I discovered today that I have been a Wealthy Affiliate Ambassador for 500 Days I was flabbergasted! Really I thought? This has been an incredible journey for me and I would like to share what this means to me.

I can remember clearly when I read Kyle's first message to me about aiming to pay it forward by striving to become an Ambassador. At that time my rank was way down and I never thought I could achieve that goal.

Questions, Questions, And More Questions?

Several questions popped into my mind all beginning with the following words, how, why, and when? At that time I was a newbie and had several concerns.

  • How could I help others when I was still learning the ropes?
  • Why was it important that I try to help others if I ended up confusing them?
  • When would be the right time to strive to become an Ambassador?

The Right Moment

A light bulb moment illuminated my mind. Aiming to become an Ambassador is not something we strive for. Becoming really good at a few things and then helping others who have problems in these areas IS something to strive to do.

To become really good at those few things meant taking classes about those topics. Then put what I learned into action. If I had difficulties I could ask for help.

My WA Blog was another area I could write about my affiliate marketing experiences that could help others. I knew this was a double-edged sword. Any time spent doing this meant I would have less time to work on my website posts.

It's Your Choice

By doing these things often enough I became an Ambassador. Those reading this who want to join these ranks can also o so. Know that being an Ambassador is not necessary to develop a successful affiliate marketing business. The choice is yours.

At that time I was not familiar with the concept of using content affiliate links on WA to build my business. When I learned that later, that was another light bulb moment.

Pretty soon I was able to help others. It felt really good. I realized that WA had many talented individuals who shared their knowledge through their blogs and the pieces of training they created.

All of this meant I could spend more time on the WA Platform while developing the skills needed for my business. In this way, I knew there would be more opportunities for me to pay it forward.

I Remember The Faithful Day

I remember the events that finally propelled me over the 25th rank position. Two other members who I communicated with frequently set up a friendly competition to see who would cross the finish line first.

It was exhilarating when I was the first. And I didn't land on spot 25. My first position was 23 after making a leap of several positions

For those who are not sure, when you rank in the top 25, you become an Ambassador. You receive a congratulatory message from Kyle on your new status.

Since then I have moved in and out of the top 25 several times. Being an Ambassador for 500 days is a special milestone for me.

That tells me I have been an active member of the WA community having fun. In the process, I have forged friendships and connections with many wonderful members here.

Know Your Priorities

Frankly, it is more important to be of value to others. Whether I remain an Ambassador, move into and out of the top 25, is not what drives me.

My main goal is to become really good at just a few things rather than be mediocre at many.

While I am at it, why not contribute to the success of others in the process?

Here's the challenge.

There are so many things I need to learn for significant growth. However, I do not need to learn and do everything all at once.

First Things First

It is crucial I understand enough to know what is most critical at this phase of my journey and focus on these things first. And become really good at these things before diluting my efforts in trying to do too much.

Know your priorities and make sure you indeed PRIORITISE!

The right time to add other skills is when I can see the results of what I am currently doing and feel I need to add others in order to move to the next level.

It is like taking one step at a time instead of trying to hop over several. When I tried to do too many things, I have tripped. It didn't feel good.

It is in this way I am able to be active on the WA Platform being an Ambassador as well as working on growing my website.

Uniqueness And Individuality Are Important

We are all unique individuals. Some of us can take on more activities and learn more things in parallel. If that is you, go for it. I know I am a slow learner and must factor that in my planning.

When I compare the successes I have had to the overall effort I have put into my business, I am happy with the results.

I know that to get better results I must put more effort into doing the things I am doing right now.

I am grateful for all the help and support I have received. Paying it forward is the right thing to do and makes immense sense.

I wish you much success in your affiliate marketing journey.

Edwin

Good morning, Edwin and congratulations on your 500 day streak as an Ambassador at WA. Well done.

I think your blogroll post about this is a very good one with sound advice. As you write in your post the importance of getting the priorities right is essential.

Our business and websites have to come first, as they are the machines that generate our income. And helping others is a good number two.

To another 500 days as WA Ambassador!

Roy

Hello Roy,

Great to hear from you. I am glad you liked my post. Thanks for your comments.

I wish you continued success in your affiliate marketing business.

Cheers.

Edwin

You are most welcome, Edwin :-)

Roy

Good morning Edwin,

Congratulations on being an ambassador for 500 days, that really is quite an achievement! I know that you are very active within the community and that your aim is to help others rather than just be an ambassador.

I like your very wise words in your blog post, you definitely have your priorities right! No one should aim to be an ambassador, however, what we can do is share our knowledge and help others as we learn. Which is exactly what you are doing.

I must admit I have never checked how long I have been an ambassador, I have just looked! I have been an ambassador for 269 days and probably six or seven times, that's a guess! As you mention, Edwin, and I am the same, we have both drifted in and out of ambassadorship.

I really appreciate your input to Wealthy Affiliate, I don't have the opportunity to read all your blog posts. However, when I do, I always gain something.

Have a great day.

Roy

Hello Roy,

Thanks for dropping by. I don't make it a habit of checking in to all the new posts daily. When I do, I go through all of the top 10. There are so many good posts that one has to be careful not to spend too much time on this pursuit. I am glad that you commented on this one of mine.

Thanks for appreciating the value I put into my posts. Some are better than others but that is the nature of the beast.

I wish you much success in your affiliate marketing journey.

Cheers.

Edwin

Good morning Edwin,

A very happy weekend to you.

It's always a pleasure to read your posts, Edwin. It sounds like you work similarly to how I do, I normally look at the top 10 posts and a few of the latest questions. I would love to be able to spend more time on Wealthy Affiliate, however, we have to take care to get our priorities right!

I think we are all the same, some of our posts are better than others.

All the best.

Roy

Edwin, I was happy to see you in the chat at Eric's class tonight, and congrats on 500 days as an ambassador. Your heart of service to others is BEAUTIFUL.
You say that you are a slow learner, then I am a really slow learner.
A few months after arriving at WA, I got CHF, congestive heart failure almost died, and was in recovery for 2 months over a year.

I only have one post completed---Silly me! Iwant to use my phone-photos,

*And I don't really get the "how part" of doing that. I need help if anyone could please help me with this?
I love to write.

I understand how you felt about not knowing enough! I only got through to the put the 1st website thingy together lesson.
Time to return to all of that too!

Plus it's necessary to do much-needed yard work, roof repairs, stuff must now be done before our Blazing Hot Summer. It's coming!
Weather is extreme here in northern Arizona.

Plus I'm 70 years so, it's true about watching your energy!

WA is my choice of vehicle to a better life, so I love it here with all of the wonderful people who make up this community1

Thank you, Edwin!
Suzay

Great to hear from you Suzay.

Sorry to hear about your health challenges. When we get older our warranties start to run out lol.

I prefer to create posts on my computer rather than on the phone. Ine option you can use is to send the photos you want from your phone out as an Email with the photo attachments.

Then open your Email on your computer and download your photos. Once you place them in your photos folder or any folder for that matter that you make a note of, you can upload them to your WA site content where they will reside as images that you can use in your posts. Either for WA or your website articles.

Does this make sense?

Cheers.

Edwin

Thank you. Edwin, I do think I understand that explanation. I did take some photos with my phone and did put them in my email.
I was missing the next 2 steps, which you just gave to me.

Watch out! I am feeling so much better Now!!! Iron sharpens iron and so the countenance (energy levels, posture, the whole list) of a friend.
Thank you again! bless you,
Suzay

Glad to be of help!

Many congratulations Edwin! Wow! 500 days! 🥂

You are truly an Ambassador of the highest level who thinks nothing of putting others needs before your own, whilst also learning at the same time!

A true model to follow and I look forward to reading about your future successes in your next 500 days as an Ambassador and beyond my friend!

Have a fantastic start to the weekend also Edwin!:-)

Hi Nick,

Thanks so much for your supportive comments. I do my best. You’re on the right path at Wealthy Affiliate. They show us the way, the proof that it works, and give us all the training and tools to succeed.

We have to do the work.

When you read the stories of the super affiliates they did three things to achieve the high level of success they have today.

1) Firstly, they recognized that Wealthy Affiliate provided the path they were looking for.
2) Secondly, they stepped forward on this journey and worked hard every day.
3) Thirdly, they recognized success would take time, and never gave up.

Of course, they made mistakes, had doubts about their ability, and felt like giving up. But they kept moving forward on their journey instead.

Some achieved their results in 6 months. Others in two years. While some took several years.

The secret is to recognize the winning formula is here in plain view. Then follow it.

Sadly, many don’t believe this is so because they think nothing they do works. Why, because they don’t see results. Yet. I am sure people give up on the verge of seeing their hard work paying off.

If they persevered, followed the formula, they would have succeeded. Sad.

It’s hard to create quality content day in and day out. Especially when we don’t see the results. We must have blinders on and stay focused on the important stuff.

Do that and success will come.

Nick, have you had doubts? Belief issues? And feeling like throwing in the towel? I’d be surprised if you didn’t.

You know what to do to make this work. Just do it as Nike says lol.

Cheers.

Edwin

Edwin this written to Nick was excellent too. We must never give up!
I get frustrated with health issues, asthma, causing lower energy, and *making up for my missed training. (Well, by experience, or the lack of it, I now know why training is emphasized so much when you first get here!) But I went to the hospital instead, and even missed someone grabbing me and pointing at training.)
I won't give up, because I am looking forward to the technical things becoming "routine, and the writing part being the reward.

Does this make sense? Example: I worked as a cashier at Lowe's for over 5 years. The job, including doing returns desk, and working at customer service, and my curious mind learning everything I could look up and every person on the floor with a particular answer, like in plumbing, etc.
Well, the job then becomes routine. The customers and serving their needs are the fun part, the reward.

Training therapy, organizational therapy, physical therapy, and the "Plus" classes, are just the beginning, the stepping stones to promoting WA, and helping others along the WAy1
Thank you, Edwin,
Suzay

Hi Suzay, I responded to your previous message and provided tips on how to use the photos from your phone.

Cheers.

Edwin

Thanks Edwin, all of what you have said here is so true!

No two journeys will be the same and all successful business people will have come across stumbling blocks and hurdles on their journeys!

What makes them successful in the end? Not giving up and always finding a solution to any problems that have stood in their way and learning not to make the same mistakes twice is what!

Everything we do is a learning experience, and as long as we learn from what has happened before we can't go wrong!

Personally, (I am only human after all)! Of course I have had doubts and felt like throwing in the towel on numerous occasions!

But having a positive mindset and a "just do it" attitude has helped me a lot at times when I feel like this is the end of the road!

I am still going, and intend to never give up as long as I can breath my friend!

Cheers Edwin, and enjoy a fabulous weekend ok!

I got them. thank you very much, I'm going to play with them and explore "site content". Passover is coming, so I hold it for a little bit of time.

Thanks for the confirmation Suzay.

Great to know!

Hi Edwin,

Great achievement. This is inspiring!
