Can't Afford The Premium Membership at WA?

Last Update: May 07, 2019

I've seen quite a few times where starter members love WA but claim they can't afford to upgrade because of financial issues. I get it, times are tough! Then there are some of you that feel Wealthy Affiliate is too expensive. If that's you, read this article here for clarification on the premium membership fee.

But for everyone else that sees the value of WA and needs help with upgrading, here are some ways to get the money to upgrade:

1. Get Paid For Writing Comments on other WA Members Blogs

Did you know you can actually get paid to participate here on WA. WA has its own money called WA credits which can be redeemed as real cash or can be used to pay for things within WA like your WA membership. Leaving comments on other member's blogs is probably one of the fastest and easiest ways for anyone whether you're new or experiened to earn WA credits aka cash to pay for your membership.

2. Sell some of your old "JUNK" on Craigslist, Ebay or Amazon.

If you have old cds, cell phones, tvs, gadgets, clothes, toys, furniture, etc., there is probably someone out there that is willing to pay for it. It's like the saying goes, one man's junk is another man treasure! If not your junk, what about your family members or friends? Offer to clean out their garage or attic. You'd be surprised all the things you can find that can be sold online. Plus you'll get some brownie points for helping them! lol

3. Do some small online jobs on Amazon Mechanical Turk.

Most people know Amazon for shopping. But did you know they have a work at home section called mechanical turk where you can get paid for transcription, image tagging, data entry, writing articles, reviews and much more? Depending on the hits (jobs) you do, within a week or two you would probably have enough to pay for a month of WA! Best of all, while you're learning to build a business here on WA, you can make some money on the side with Amazon. So instead of having Amazon making money off you, make some money on off them and re-invest in yourself here at WA!

4. Review what you're currently spending money on & get to slicing!

Chances are you have a cable package where you don't even use all the channels you're paying for. Seriously, when was the last time you really watched the Indy network? Or maybe you have a cell phone plan where you have more minutes or data than you actually use per month. What about all that expensive ass coffee you buy from Starbucks? I guarantee if you really started to review your spending, there are numerous places where you can cut back and you would have enough to pay for your WA membership every month.

How much is your freedom and happiness really worth?

A premium membership is less than $2 per day and even cheaper if you can pay the year upfront.

Aren't your dreams and freedom worth more than that? What about your family? Isn't spending more time with them or giving them a life better than you had worth the sacrifice of less than $2 per day? I think when you view it like that, you'll be able to figure it out.

Again I understand how hard it is for some of us out there, so I don't want to minimize that. But sometimes we just don't have our priorities in order. Next time you spend money on something, I want you to ask yourself is this necessary and is it bringing me closer to my dreams? If you do that, I'm sure you'll soon find that you can afford a premium membership here at WA.

5. Talk To Strangers and earn $100 - $200 per Hour!

Watch my YouTube Video here
. But it basically involves talking to strangers about various topics, products or services. And no it's not crappy little online surveys that pay you pennies. This is a technique I would use to make some extra money. Unfortunately it wasn't consistent or passive like affiliate marketing which is where I spend most of my energy and you should as well. But you can use this technique to fund your WA membership for a year.

Here's a little diddy that might bring it all home for you:

Let that marinate in your mind. Let me know your thoughts below. I would love to hear from you. Or feel free to share this with anyone you may have run into that isn't able to "afford" WA.

Hi Eddy, That is all great about cutting back, but what advice do you have for people that don't have the time to put forth because they're working to pay for the membership? So at that point they don't get ahead still yet because now they don't have the time to do the training at WA. This is where I'm at. I understand about priorities, but if you don't have the job to pay for the membership them it doesn't matter if you have the time to do the training. So let me know what advice you have for that, if any.
Thank You
Linda
P.S
I will hold off my cancelation for a hour for your reply.

I like your articles but am tired of hearing the phrase, "claim they can't afford it." With the two of us 'surviving' on $26,000 annually and a third of that going for drs and medicine, I see RED when I hear that phrase!

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND. I just needed to get that out of my system.

Charlotte, as I said in the article above: "Again I understand how hard it is for some of us out there, so I don't want to minimize that. " it's also why I had the section about Amazon mechanical Turk because I do realIze some people don't have the means for this. I'm sorry you choose to fixate on parts of the article that are addressed to others that are not in your situation.

Apparently I should have private messaged my comment - or just held it in because I did NOT want a comment on it. (I don't know how to use that feature yet.) I thought I made it plain that I was just "blowing off steam" and not saying that you were targeting me or somebody in a real spot.

If you respond to this I will not reply because this was a comment I should not have made; it concerns the past and I want to go forward in a positive state of mind.

That's fine. I just wanted to clear the air just in case there was any confusion about the goal of the article which was to help people and not make them feel bad. But I'm happy we're past that now. Cheers!

Eddy, Just sold a TEAC tape deck with accessories last week and paid some bills so you confirmed it. Now I'm facing another week with WA payment coming up and mortgage on the 1st. I'm checking out the mechanical turk you mentioned to see what that's about. I'm a glass full guy so this will work. Just gotta be creative! BE$T, Dan

Clearly you're dedicated to this. If you could eventually afford it, it may be better just to pay the full year to save yourself a lot of money.

Hi Eddy, I am serious thinking about canceling my premium membership because I cannot afford another bill right now and this is stressing me out. Does this Amazon Mechanical Turk works for real?

Hey Wanda,

Sorry to hear that. But yes it is real. I wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't.

Janice,

I don't understand your question. Mechanical Turk doesn't require a website. Amazon Associates does and that's totally different. Make sure you read my mechanical turk article http://www.workathomenoscams.com/2008/07/29/work-at-home-with-amazoncom/ carefully and watch the video there so you understand how it works. I don't think turk is only for US workers.

I appreciate the tips. However I have already done all the cut backs I can do. Its rough getting Laid Off after all these years. Its very hard to get a job in this one horse town I live. I find WA a great inspiration. I really do wish I had the money to join.
