How many websites do I need?
Hello fellow WAer,
If you are just starting out as a premium with Wealthy Affiliate, or if you have been here for a while, you have probably asked yourself this question. How many websites do I need?
Once I became a premium member, I added 2 new websites right off the bat. Although having 2 websites to start is not impossible to manage, I believe that it is not ideal. Looking back, I wish I had only started with one website.
I think, especially when you are a WA newbie, it is better start out with just one website as you are learning the ropes in addition to adding pages and posts to your websites. This can be a bit daunting at times with just one site, and with 2 it can at times become down right frustrating.
By working on just one website to start, you can focus in on this niche area, and get it up, and ranking in the search engines more quickly than if you are going back and forth with two sites.
You are also less likely to give up with one site than with two to start. Remember, this is more of a marathon than a sprint, so keep your expectations realistic. In other words, don't bite off more than you can chew.
It is important though that you choose an area that you are knowledgable, and at least somewhat passionate about, so you have a deep well of information to write about.
It is also enjoyable to share knowledge with others that most are not yet aware of, and can benefit from your experience and education on the subject.
So my advice is to start with one website. Choose an area that you are passionate and know a lot about, and get it ranking and making money before you consider adding another one.
All the best, Tom

I am a newbie here at WA, and I did consider going through the training with two sites instead of with one. I still am in fact. It is only my first week in WA.
There is so much to learn, I feel that if I spend more time on doing the tasks for two websites, I will forget thenprior tasks more easily.
Jeannine, you have a good point, there have been some fix's on my end that I would have had to do twice as much with two different websites.
Tom, I may follow your advice, going between two niches would possibly take longer to accomplish than focusing on one niche at a time.
Great topic
Thanks,
David L.
Couldn't agree with you more! Starting two sites at the same time means that you can duplicate mistakes and have two sites to correct instead of just one. I've seen it happen so many times!
I agree with you, it's better to work with just one site, learn everything about how to build a site here at WA, once you master it and you know how to work on everything is needed, you could start a second site.
Thanks for sharing.
Agreed Tom! Who in their right mind would launch two different businesses at the same time?
I agree - focus on one, get it built out to where it is mostly just 'maintenance posts' and then start a second site.
very good point Tom it is a marathon
