Youtube Update
Just wanted to give a quick update on the Youtube video I made a little while back.
As you can see below it made me $350 this month and got a total of 7,000 views on Youtube, with 3680 clicks to Amazon.
This video is based on a product that's converted very well for me in Google before and I'm guessing not every product converts this well but I'm still excited about the results.
This video only took me one day to do and this is only ONE month of results. This is a winter focused keyword and we haven't even hit winter yet! I still have December (I'm guessing when it's going to be most profitable), January, February and at least the beginning of March.
Plus, with Camtasia, I can go back and edit portions of the video without having to re-do the entire thing. So when next winter comes around, I can just add one or two new products (45 minutes of work) and reupload it.
All in all one days work is probably going to make $3000 or more for me in the next few years (if only everyday was this productive).
Keep in mind 7,000 views a month isn't that much either. If this video kept this pace up for the whole year (it won't because traffic will slow down to a crawl in the summer), it'll get 84,000 views. That's good but you can find keywords that can beat that. Similar style videos with different best of keywords can get up to a 1,000,000 views in a year. And there's plenty that get between 100,000 to 1,000,000.
Sometime this month I'll give a short tutorial on using Camtasia to make a best of video. This way if you decide to spend the $250 it takes to buy Camtasia you can hit the ground running.
The last few months I've gone back and forth on what I should do for 2019 and have finally settled on my plan.
I hired a Filipino based on JerryHuangs course here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/hiring-writer-like-a-pro-even-if-youve-never-hired-before
And she's going to be handling my nicheless Amazon site from here out on out. After seeing some excellent results from different members here at Wealthy Affiliate I've decided to start a affiliate site to promote Wealthy Affiliate. I'll be writing for this site 5 times a week. Writing about affiliate marketing is pretty easy for me and I'll be spending the first half of my day doing this.
The second half of days Monday through Friday will be focused on creating Youtube content.
I set some pretty high goals for myself this year and for the next few years and I intend on reaching them. I think this is how I can do it and I'm pretty excited for the challenge.
I'll be giving updates along the way as usual.
Thanks for reading and hopefully 2019 brings you more sales than ever!

Hey Dylan, good to hear from you!
Excellent news. I already started doing a bit of research on what tool to use to create YT videos but I will certainly welcome your training on Camtasia.
At the moment, it's a pricey one for me to invest but who knows maybe it'll be worth the investment.
Glad you enjoyed Jerry's tutorial! I will be looking for a writer in 2019 most likely, when I will surely have extra funds to pay him/her. (Also let me know how it worked out for ya!)
Didn't expect you to add WA promotion to your plans so soon, thought you'd go with 2 new Amazon sites. Excited to hear about your WA site progress!
As for Youtube...
I've thought long and hard about this and it's a no-brainer and I just have to get over my (baseless) fears. After having finished the article I mentioned to you in PM recently, I will give it YouTube a go. Hopefully this month.
Man, your updates get me pumped up! lol.
P.S. If you just add new products to the same video, I assume you don't verbally say "2018" or "2019" and instead say something like "this year", "right now"?
Yeah I honestly didn't have plans on promoting WA but after seeing some of these Black Friday results it seems like a no brainer.
Plus the writer I hired is working for $450 a month and can match my output. So I'll let her tackle the best of posts.
You can say 2018 in your intro (you can just add a new into without having to redo the video).
I wouldn't say it on your products, though.
And camtasia isn't the only video editing software. I'm sure there plenty of cheaper options available.
Makes sense. I have a feeling you'll kill it too! Unlike many newbies, you actually have good experience in making money with affiliate marketing 💪
I was thinking if I should hire a writer for my Amazon site or WA site but still haven't decided.
Technically WA site should be easier for me but it's been so long since I published MMO related posts. (Not scam reviews though, never enjoyed those). What do you think?
Alright then, I will probably use Lumen5 for now since I already have some basic experience with it but will be on the lookout for your Camtasia training.
Yeah I'm glad I waited to enter the make money at home niche - I like having knowledge about it and I can help people better.
I'm just going to follow what Little Mama and Jerry Huang did. They got really good results in 1 year by just pounding out reviews.
I'm gonna just write lengthy info posts (maybe try some bests of's here and there) and really hammer away at reviews.
I'm gonna build an email list too so I can market other products outside of WA in the future.
I might write about Youtube as well. I'm pretty excited.
And just put some videos out there so you get a jist of everything. Don't worry about your accent either. People won't mind it. People just don't like videos that have no narration or the videos that have a robot voice.
I certainly will be the first one to join your email list haha. I can feel you're excited and it certainly is contagious (well, at least for me lol).
As for YT videos: This time I won't do without voice, I will use Lumen5 and try to use the Mac built-in tool to add voice. Will get to it after I'm done my post.
And yeah Grace and Jerry certainly are great examples! Grace is changing things up a little but pounding out reviews certainly is a way to succeed with WA site.
Keep us posted and good luck! :)
I'll let you know when the site is live and I'll keep you updated. Let me know if you need help with making videos or anything like that.
Hi Dylan
Thanks for sharing it’s great to see your doing well!
I’ll look forward to your tutorial on Camtasia as that’s one area im struggling on as I’m test to make a video.
Thanks Dylan,
For this update, you are a man of so much knowledge thanks for sharing, I know you are excited you can tell in your post, I am in need of a writer, I did read Jerry post went through the tutorial, I just have to implement now:)
Cynthia,
Here to a prosper year 2019
Cheers!!!
Thanks and Jerry's training really works. Just make sure to vet the writers and follow it exactly.
Good luck this year!
That's fantastic Dylan! I can't imagine how excited you are about your success!
Can't wait for Camtasia training!
Here's to success in 2019!
Cora
Wonderful, Dylan!
I'd really like to know how you get on with your new writer. In spite of Jerry's most excellent tutorial I still have reservations about getting them to produce solid, original content.
Ian
As long as you vet the writers and follow Jerrys training you can find a good writer. The writer I have writes like she's known English her whole life and is only $450 a month for full time work.
Thanks for the update, Dylan and congratulations on your success with that one video.
We are curious about Camtasia. Only a few hours ago we were looking at Screenflow and in fact, downloaded their free trial. It looks good but, from a quick look, Camtasia seems to offer more features, albeit it's double the price of Screenflow. Have you ever taken a look at Screenflow and, if you did, how did it stack up against Camtasia?
Colette and Philip
Thanks, Dylan. Campasia also has a free trial so we'll take a look at that as well.
Colette and Philip
That's Wicked Dylan.... Thanks for the inspiration bro.
I'm gona go hard on video two.
All the Best Rob

It is always a pleasure reading your
blog post, Dylan.
Thank you so much for keeping us
updated with your progress and also
sharing things that are working for
you.
Can we get approved as an amazon
affiliate by only having a youtube
channel or is it necessary to list a
blog when we apply for it?
I'm not a hundred percent sure actually. You may want to have a website just to list.
will look into it, thank you Dylan :)
