FINALLY found what has been holding me back!!
ok so all this time my mind was clouded and i couldn't seem to exactly point out why i felt what i felt and why i was frustrated and wanted to give up! it is because of the appearance!!!! i could have all the golden content in the world but for ME, i now know i cant move forward with my sites until or unless they LOOK good enough for my standards. if anyone reading this thinks they can help let me know!!! im just tired of the same old 1 color background, one boring font. i want to be able to chose a cool font for my title/heading and make a cool logo etc etc but WP makes it difficult to accomplish this. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS ): ): ): if anyone is knowledgeable on this matter comment below (: thanks guys

see you have received good advice, it is a good question as I was not to sure either thank you
If you're a *visual* person, rather than a coder, check out http://utmce.siterubix.com If that's what you're looking for, then install the plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ultimate-tinymce/ and follow Dom's excellent training on it here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/ultimate-tinymce-plugin-the-ultimate-training :) Rich.
What theme are you using? Some themes allow you to change the font and style colors through the dashboard in theme appearance or theme customization. Take a look at how your site looks within different themes through the live view.
i have 3 sites just pretty much blank, i know for sure one is attorney i think.. i look up woo themes and elegant themes but no matter which one i use i still dont know how to make it look snazy you know
for instance my WA site is whywealthyaffiliate.com but its so boring looking!!! i have the content prepared but like ive said before im not willing to do all that work unless it looks nice first. just about the best thing ive done is add the social media buttons up at the top and thats about it. oh and the "breakdown tab" has minor content.
It seems to be the themes you are selecting. Choice a theme that suits your purpose and what you want to do with it as to customization. Some themes allow you to customize. Debbie
you might need to curb your enthusiasm! The answer lies in editing and using code, check out Wayne Wallace and PHP, CSS, HTML stuff for an idea...you might find it easier to get a more involving theme for the time being...
If you can nail content, then you have the most important element, good luck, Andy
i will check him out!! i dont even know what PHP and CSS is lol but a tinny bit familiar with HTML.. i just want my site to look good before i get too far with all my content dn think well its good content but when someone visits theyre going to be bored just looking at the design and make them not even want to read the content
I use cool text for text design, then I bring different elements over and mess about in pixlr (like photoshop, only free) to get something for a banner or background. You can add things in headers, background, footers etc. and some themes are very flexible for customization.
But, I really have to agree with Andy, content is the thing. Get some really good content on your site and work on visual aspects also, but second. A nice looking site is something to appreciate, but content is what gets your visitors to come back.
i agree that content is ultimately the most important but if i cant get the visual straight (ever) then i just put all the work with content just to have a boring looking site.. i base some opinions off of myself. if i search something on google, i click the link with the best name, then after that while im looking for exact content related to what im searching for i also notice how the site looks. if its not well made imo one is to start feeling questionable to trust the actual content because the site looks cheap you know?

I know the frustration, especially if you don't know the technical jargon and how to use it. I tried several themes. I now use Tempera which is a free WP theme you can find from your dashboard. I have found some different styles at SMthemes and inkthemes. Read the details of each theme, some of them have added google fonts to them, or there may be plug-ins that may help you. But I think what you want is a responsive theme with more choices. Most of the themes allow you to make a custom header, and add your own background. take a look at mine. http://dontquitnowsuccessstartshere.com
