Here I am going to show you step by step on how to set up an online affiliate store using Wealthy Affiliate. Wealthy Affiliate is an amazing source for education, and a platform to start and maintain one or multiple businesses and/or blogs. You are allowed up to 50 sites, 25 of your own, and 25 free. All for $49 a month. Compare that to building a Shopify store, at $29 a month for 1 site, it’s an incredible value!

With an affiliate store you are marketing other peoples products, so you can have an online store with virtually no start up costs!

I chose the sewing niche as that is something I am interested in and I can blog about without getting bored to drive SEO. So Here we go!

Step 1

Simply sign in to your Wealthy Affiliate account and click on website builder. It’s so easy and they take you through it step by step. You do not need any technical know how.

So here you can see that I used my own url yoursewingroom.com. You can purchase your url directly through Wealthy Affiliate, and it automatically comes with privacy and a security certificate.

Step 2

Pick the theme for your site. For this example I picked a free ecommerce theme Shopstar.

Step 3

Wait while the Wealthy Affiliate system sets up your site!

Step 4

Now you are at your dashboard. There are recommended plugins, you simply select all and activate!

Step 5

Now we are cooking, we’re going to set up shop! Here is what the website looks like automatically:

We need to set up a look and identity for the site, basically make it a brand. I am going to leave off where I get my art and how I do it because those are all affiliate links, but here is my new cover photo:

I installed the WP fonts plugin and changed the fonts of the title.

Step 6

Now we are ready to start adding products. I have many affiliate accounts, for this example I am going to use Shareasale. I love Shareasale, they have so many great things to promote. They even send you seasonal lookbooks for ideas. You could create a store around so many niches. If you are an Amazon affiliate you can do the same thing I am showing. And if you sell T shirts for Merch by Amazon, you could set up a T shirt store and promote your shirts AND get your Amazon Associates commission!!! Hot stuff right?! So for this demo I am going to use sewingmachinesplus.com to place items in my store.

One of the plugins we installed was WooCommerce. When you activate it, it will walk you through all the steps. Uncheck that you will be shipping anything. Don’t add any payment info. Follow the steps and your store will be set up!

Then I sign in to Shareasale. I already have been accepted by Sewing Machines Plus. I click on Get links, Then Datafeed Products. I type in scissors.

Then we will click on Get Links for each product. Now this may seem tedious, but this is going to be a highly curated store. There are ways to build a shop within Shareasale and pop it on a website, but I want this to actually look like a real shop. Go to your left sidebar, and click on Products/Add Product

.

Then back to Shareasale. Click on get links and copy what I have circled. Paste it in your browser to go to the page. Right click and save down the picture.

Back to Add Product, copy and paste the name from the website.

Then on the right side bar, we will put the category, tags, product image, and gallery image.

Finally at the bottom, for Product Data we will put in External/Affiliate product, then enter the prices. The Product URL is what I copied from Shareasale. Then publish.

Keep adding the products you want. You can even add products from another affiliate network. And it just populates in your shop! You are in business!

Is there a reason why I can't see the images on this post? And how can i fix it?
I've been struggling to get my affiliate store for woocommerce up and running. Please help.

I can't see the photos either and when I clicked on the little icon, the local connection was refused. Since this is a post from a member, you will most likely find better training by scrolling through the Live Events training that Jay puts on.

Here are a couple of events that may help you. Just take lots of notes.

I am glad I clicked this article. So, can I do all of the above put actually put a 'shop' on current sites?

Probably best just to do another site for this. I am really itching to give this a go.

However, I think I need a list of affiliate sites that allow me to do this. Any suggestions DSL?

Also, I would have to probably do an affiliate disclosure saying I am work from home entrepreneur and hence why there is no physcial address of phone number or email? This would be the honest thing to do or lead to mistrust?

I am actually on the WooCommerce Wizard now and its asking for physical location of store, currency of store (which euros are not supported it seems nor my location) and so where does that leave in this process. I can't exactly give everyone online my home address.

Kinda stuck. Appreciate any advice.

I will post a Shopify plugin tutorial soon. They seem to have great appsl.Right now I want to get my stuff on Amazon and am testing if they are penalizing for Merch, because if you list as a pro seller you can keyword yourself away, but not with Merch.

Donna, What timing. Thank you. I've been saying I have to figure out how to get data feed from CJ onto a site. You are an angel.

Can you do some shipping yourself?

Easy just use the post office and register the packsge

I asked that question because you said "uncheck the box for shipping"
What I am asking is can you have affiliate items and your own in the same store. Shipping cost on your own others free or calculated by the affiliate?

Dennis

Dennis, this was just training on an affiliate store. I also use the Shopify plugin on another store and there are some tutorials out there on YouTube that explain how to adjust certain things by adjusting the weights in shipping. I have never combined both affiliate and non affiliate in one store. I do a lot of dropshipping.

OK I gotcha.
I knew that just wondering if you knew the answer!

I have built several succesful stores without affiliate links. just wondering if you could combine them with Woo commerce.
Thanks for responding

Great training! I didn't know we can build an affiliate store. I thought it was only for drop shipping:) Is there add to card or stuff like this or does it redirect the readers right to the network site?
Also, did you try the WooCommerce Amazon Associates? If so, what do you think about this plugin?

Thanks DSL for your sharing this great info.
