Its Only $2.45, Still I Respect My First Sale
The amount is not much, in fact, this is a very tiny amount. It's only $2.45, but still, this is my first sale and I must respect my first sale.
It was tough time
It came exactly when I was getting frustrated with my travel related niche website. Few visitors were visiting every day through organic traffic but the earn book in Amazon was still blank. I even stopped crawling the Amazon associate account unless I needed it for a product review.
It is true that I was passing through a hopeless time, but still, what I did, I continued to create contents. This is what I learned here in Wealthy Affiliate... Don't give up, keep working, the result will come to meet you. It is true that, after I started my second website (online marketing) I could afford lesser time for my first niche website. But, I always tried to keep a balance.
Anyway, I am glad to share the news that a sale came finally. It came lately, it took almost 7 months after joining Wealthy Affiliate. But that's not a big deal, because now I believe this happens in reality, and affiliate marketing is a real scope to make money online.
The way I worked
To be honest, I don't have 100s of articles on my website, because this is my first ever appearance in the online world and it took a lot of time to learn things. Additionally, English is not my mother tongue. So, I needed some extra time to complete an article in comparison to others (even still I need more time). Besides I focused on lengthy contents (5000-7000 word), which also decreased the number of articles (but of course helped me to rank better).
One thing I tried to follow properly which I learned in training... I do not include affiliate links in most of my articles. I include affiliate links in my 20-30% articles. Which is probably another factor for better ranking, though I am not sure about it. (I have seen affiliate links in almost every page in many websites)
However, I am glad that I got my first sale and earned my first commission. A new dream starts to blink again. Don't know, when I'll get the next sale, but what I know, I have a long way to go. And Wealthy Affiliate taught us not to give up ever. So let's continue the fight for financial freedom.

This is a wonderful success! It takes an incredible amount of courage to start this journey. Even moreso when English is not your first language. I really commend you on not giving up. Yes, there is no reason to give up when you are spending your precious time on that. There is nothing more precious than TIME. So, I utilize every moment that I can afford with my full heart. Again, engaging yourself in a broken heart doesn't result well.

I hope you learned a lot in these 6 weeks. However, training and support within Wealthy Affiliate make the steep learning curves reasonable easier. At least in my case.
However, my journey was started with a much competitive niche... Many people are working with a travel niche, which costs me extra time to achieve success.
In my case travel was my first love and hence I selected this niche. But I'd suggest others to select a less competitive niche instead.

Funny thing about Travel, it too is my passion, in fact was in the industry for over 20 years, left only 18 months ago to work in substance misuse. Travel is ridiculously competitive, in fact my last company (cruise) we had to write blogs, post on 3 different social media platforms, etc, and I had the mighty Cruise.co behind me and still it was a struggle.
So have chosen not to use Travel despite having lots of knowledge, never the less maybe you could narrow it down to very niche specific, something like, travel with disabilities, Single Travel, (specifically Cruise) travelling with children who have special needs. One of the best You Tube Travel vloggers is him visiting different Cruise ships. These are all areas which Travel Agents don’t have the time to research, if you engage with the trade, like Travel Gossip, (aimed at travel agents) you may may pick up extra traffic.
Travel industry have some really stunning websites and blogs but don’t feel intimidated you can pick up lots of tips. However it will require some fairly hefty research.
Another area to exploit are gadgets to be used on Cruise travel, this market is loyal and repeat so offering some inspirational gadgets, little things like, good Flasks for your hot chocolate when on a Cold Water Cruise, or metal hooks, (inspired idea to hang on the cruise cabin wall or ceiling, for clothes etc..)
Another is Gap year travel, who is doing what and where, or Charity travel, like working Niger building a school, Borneo (orangutan orphanage) Homeless children charity in Pakistan, and so on.
