Blog posting formating.

The reason this happens when pasting from Word is that it carries over unnecessary code.

When you copy from Word, make sure you copy it directly into the TEXT editor mode, not in visual mode.

Using the 'Paste from Word' icon does not strip all the codes, although you may not see it until you look at it in your text editor, or use an html/css validator.

Using Notepad is okay, but you should still check your code and remove anything
unnecessary. It is supposed to be a plain text editor, but it does not always work
that way because of the combination of WordPress functionality, your theme, and the TinyMce plugin and how these interact with each other.

Did you try to copy/paste from word to notepad first and then from notepad to wordpress editor?

Not yet but that sounds like a good idea. More hoops but still easier than spacing each sentence throughout the post. Thanks!

Oh, now I know what the problem is.
I had the same issue until wasn't advised to use that trick with notepad.
Believe you me it is still faster, takes only two additional seconds.:)

That's and editor thing. Just make your line breaks permanent. Type in text view and enter "At the end of this lineAnd here starts the new line...end here

Got it?

Let me clarify this. NOT after every line of the sentence. Just "at the end of sentence will give you 2 permanent line breaks. That's what I meant to say first place. Brain still sleep foggy

I could kiss you for knowing this, I have just spent an hour of my life trying to fix this! Man do I HATE Wordpress...

Here is a better one. Many updates in 2 years. Can't type it so check the image

Out of curiosity, did anitabs suggestion work for you?

Welcome to Randy's world... I fight it constantly and still haven't found a solution!

sometimes you need to highlight what you have pasted and change the format back to paragraph

What are you pasting from? Word? Rapid Writer? Google Docs? I use Google Docs right now but I read earlier that Carson recommends Rapid Writer here at WA. Word apparently adds weird coding that disrupts your page. I also paste into "text" as I believe that also strips out any coding. But you then have to go back in and re-format some pieces. Hope this helps.

If you are cutting and pasting from Word, then use the little 'Paste from Word" icon on the dashboard above your blog post. It looks like a clipboard with a W on it.

Thanks, I will check that out!
