Buying A New House With A New Site In One Year

Good morning, afternoon or evening, wherever you are.

Let's get nuts and go completely cray-cray and do something seriously spectacular!

Introducing....

The Challenge

To build a website from scratch and create enough income from that site to be able to buy (outright) a brand new house in one calendar year.

The Numbers

The average house price here in the UK is: £281,000 ($343,000)

The average house price in the US is: $375,000 (£307,275)

For ease, let's take an average and say $365,000

So, that naturally works out at $1000 a day over the year.

The Method

Against: No social presence, no product, no sales funnel, no mailing list, brand new site, no content, no money for paid traffic.

For: One domain name and WA :-)

Methods:

  1. Affiliate marketing (to start) - probably Amazon as it's easy to join but will extend to other affiliate programs as my traffic matures.
  2. Ads: Probably Google ads, although, if I'm not careful, I could only end up with ads that pay pennies rather than bucks - will need a lot of investigation.
  3. Own product: This might be an area where I could create my own course/report etc. but this will be a lot further down the line.

Traffic

Initially, the site will depend on traffic from the search engines as there is no cash to buy traffic so I will need to discover some seriously low-hanging fruit i.e.: NO competition and HUGE search volume to make this work (I have some ideas)

I will also be looking at creating some social media presences purely as methods of creating visitors to the site - Pinterest and Instagram will, probably, be my main socials but there is the possibility of FB/Meta (whatever it's called) later on.

First Steps

I have bought a domain and Google has indexed it, which is great so my

1st steps are to create the 'hard' pages ie. the Affiliate Disclosure, Privacy Policy, About, Contact etc.

2nd steps are building keyword lists, creating my Amazon Associate accounts.

3rd steps: Social media accounts

4th steps: Content creation - good, helpful, targeted content.

Wow! Most definitely a challenge before you, but you have a plan and a belief, and anything is possible with those two things!

I am not one to dampen anyone's dreams or goals or challenges just want to say, take it easy on yourself if things don't go as planned. I think they call it Murphy's Law--if something can go wrong, it will.

Just make sure to get out of your own way when the trials come!

Karin

Like your Dream and Goal. It al starts somewhere! And you do have some steps outlining the way you wish to accomplish this.

So the key will be in the execution and the ability to make adjustments along the way to what is encountered along the way.

And even if it takes a few years or more to accomplish this goal it is well worth the effort.

We wish you well as you follow the training and implement it to maximize your success..

We wish you well as you proceed.

Thank you George and, yes, the WA training will be very influential as the site grows

You are welcome.

Cheers!

Hi Dom,

While I admire your enthusiasm, I'm going to have to agree with Diane and Jovo.

It may not be considered the "Wealthy Affiliate Way", but I prefer a dash of realism, as well as potentially offering help (if asked for), rather than just writing a bog standard reply, "Great goals, can't wait to see you achieve them" (yeah, whatever!!!)

I'm not saying your "goal" is impossible, but this would typically only ever be achieved by someone who has a great deal of experience, plus they are likely to already have connections in their chosen industry.

The most I havve ever known someone make in the first year of their blog was Adam Enfroy, who managed a spanking $203,000 in hs first year.

However, I think there are very few human beings on this earth who possess Adam's intelligence and drive.

We can all use say the right things, but how many of us could actually work 15-20 hours a day consistently for years and years without letting our mind, our inner critic, our laziness, and our emotions lead us astray?

Very few people I would guess.

Personally, I've never actually been a believer in "goals".

For me, it's all about creating habits.

Remember, "It's not the destination, but rather the journey".

I'm guessing to get to the level of traffic you'll require, you're gonna need a lot more than "great keywords and a "social media" presense.

In fact, you're going to require some highly relevant, and high-domain backlinks.

In fact, this is how Adam got his traffic that high within a year.

He produced keyword-related content for his site, but also complete daily email outreach for guest posting opportunities.

Over the course of a year he managed to also write a further 80 guest posts for website wtth higher than DA70 rating and managed to get his traffic to 300k a month (I believe he also had around 400 rejections for guest posts).

That said, my highest traffic website is now just over 300K per month, but it's noy quite yet earning $1,000 a day... it's close, but not quite there yet, and it's taken me 4 years to get that website to this stage (clearly Adam is far more intelligent and a harder worker than me)..

Personally, I would say channel your enthusiam into creating fantastic daily habits.

Once again, remember to enjoy the journey, rather than being solely focused on the end goal.

The only reason I say this is that you could achieve something substantial by the end of 365 days.

In fact, something that can quite easily change your life.

However, I would hate you to get to the one-year stage, be absolutely nowehere near your original goal, and then mark it down as a failure (when it clearly isnt).

No await the plethora of responses. "Great goal, can't wait to see you achieve them", LOL.

From me, all you're getting is, I love your entusiasm, and I wish you best of luck.

OMG!! The 'actual' Prince left yet another, truly inspiring comment - hot diggity, I must be onto something :-D

I heartily agree that the journey is almost, almost preferable to the arrival however...

Let's see how this goes.

Thank you again for the comment and may your typing fingers never get tired.

1

Hi - nice to see you back with an interesting new challenge!

I do have to say, I think you may struggle to achieve this.

Not sure if you are aware, as you have been away, but Partha and I are collaborating on a couple of websites.

Our most established site, reached just over 7000 visitors for the month of May, at which point, the site was a full 8 months old. It had approximately 112 posts at that time.

And believe me, we are both very experienced copywriters and Partha is a genius at finding keywords.

So, let's say you can achieve the same. Of those 7000 visitors, maybe 5% will click your affiliate links ie 350. And then maybe, of these, a further 5% will buy, ie let's call it 20.

And these are quite generous figures.

So, using Amazon, with an average 4% commission, if you sold 20 products at £100 each, your total earnings in one month would be £80.

Not quite getting you on the property ladder is it?

More than anything, my advice would be to find a good affiliate program with high paying commission. Good luck!

100% in agreement with your figures Diane and, as Partha states in his comment above, I should treat the journey rather than the destination.

Let's see how it goes.

1

You have some serious disappointments waiting for you. Not sure how you got to such plans, if this is because of information collected here or elsewhere then this is a wrong information for sure. With Amazon in mind this is completely impossible.

Wonder if you have taken taxes in calculation, 60% of the income goes to taxes in the great EU country which I live in. They have to finance all those military interventions across the globe, so what else to expect. I did buy a house from this activity, but it took me 7 years. I would warmly recommend you to do the math again and to be realistic for your sake. Also, think about a different niche. You can delete this comment if you find it inappropriate.

4

Absolutely nothing inappropriate with your comment Jovo and I'll leave it up.
I completely agree that taxes (plus other expenses) will be a huge factor on the end figure but I do disagree that using Amazon makes this adventure impossible.

However, you may be completely right, let's talk again in a year.
