This has absolutely nothing to do with Wealthy Affiliate or online business but I need to vent.

To all Drivers...

Please notice the cyclist there cycling along side you, the student, worker, mum, dad, brother , sister , family friend or stranger. Cyclists have a right to be on the road as much as any car, in fact the cyclist is doing more for the environment than the car. The cyclist is protected by the same rules of the road that apply for cars. When you see a cyclist coming, you are waiting to turn left, you see the cyclist but don't think you need to let him pass, you turn out in front of him presuming he is not cycling fast enough to even catch up to you. Why do drivers hate cyclists so?

My experience as a cyclist is a terrible one. I have been hit by several cars now and just yesterday was in an accident in which a car pulled out in front of me and I had no time to break. I cycled straight into the side of the car destroying my bike, car windscreen and side panels and mirror. I was on the ground writhing in pain while the driver got out shouting at me saying what the F&*% am I doing, who is going to pay for this damage,

No thought of ringing an ambulance for me, just gave me abuse about how I shouldn't be cycling. Why are cyclists hated by drivers, I cannot afford a car, I need my bike for transport, I should feel safe on my bike but drivers do not seem to care for the cyclist. They see me as a nuisance and something that gets in the way of there comfortable journey.

I was not seriously injured just cuts and bruises. Its actually the 6th car that has hit me, most of the time it is the drivers negligence or indifference that causes the accident. This time I take responsibility as my breaks were not good enough to stop me quick enough however he should of given me the same courtesy as he would of for a car. If he saw a car coming on his left he would of never driven out in front of it, but he saw a cyclist and presumed it would be fine, I could not stop on time and I was on the ground , wind knocked out of me, in terrible pain and shaken up.

Next time I wont be so lucky, I walked away unharmed yet again, bad luck or good luck?

I think a mix of both, unlucky for the accident to happen

Lucky I was unharmed.

RANT OVER!!

Please just be aware of cyclists. I know not all drivers are bad, careless or hate cyclists. My experience though as a cyclist has been bad.

Thank you for your time,

now get back to work ... haha (just jokes)

That was a lucky escape , know the feeling just got to be so mindful these days . I have taken it of road , much safer . Although had a tangle with a low hanging branch in the weekend on a track .

I spend far too much time hosing mushy cyclists off my grill. Please be careful!

Phew! Good grief. You must be so grateful you were not seriously hurt....or worse. The individual in the car is a moron. He is probably as inconsiderate and selfish WHOEVER he encounters or hurts, though that must offer little consolation.
I'm sometimes tailgated by drivers too impatient to stick to the speed limit. It never intimidates me into putting my foot down, though. I go even slower haha.
Like I said.........morons!
Take care :)

Glad you are ok. I can't believe it was more important to chew you out than to get you help. Priorities are so messed up these days.

Thank God you're ok. I think some drivers aren't even aware of cyclists. Please be careful next time out.

Glad you were not hurt bad, but still a terrible thing to go through. I don't hate cyclists, but they do make me nervous. I always give them the right away and slow way down, that's the law here in the states. :)

Accident happens, through no fault of your own. Thanks to your blog alerting others to be wary and respecting the right of way of others, like the cyclists. Wishing you well!

Gosh that is not good glad your ok with no serious injuries, I always give them a wide berth we have lots of cyclists where I live, long ago I got knock off and they did not even stop to see if I was ok

Here in the USA the rules are very simple. If it came before the automobile it has the right of way period. The driver must yield to the horse, bicycle and the train, of course, rats if you should see one are optional.

Best:)

Wish you a Quick recovery from your brooses. Do you have insurance for your bycicle?

No, who does? insurance is not an issue for cyclists, not in my world anyway lol
