Free Chrome Extension for Keyword/Content Ideas
So, many of you will no doubt be familiar with Ahrefs, a useful, if a somewhat complicated platform that can offer analysis of your site.
The screenshot below is from the free version.
But they also have a Chrome extension, that provides information on your competitors and keyword ideas.
You can find it in the Chrome store, let's see what it can do.
Let's pretend I am considering the keyword "herb gardening in containers", so, I will pop that in Google.
And with the results, you can see some information from Ahrefs, a list of other relevant keyword ideas.
You could incorporate these within your intended post, or maybe they are worth investigating as lower-competition keywords.
Next, click People Also Ask, which, of course, you can simply scroll down Google to see them, but the Ahrefs extension offers lots of results in one go.
So, you now have a list of questions that you know people are genuinely searching for.
Perhaps useful for an FAQ section.
Now, let's look at individual posts that are already ranking.
Click on the Ahrefs icon and this is the initial information that you see.
The Meta Title, the Meta Description, and the Word Count, and the initial subheadings.
Look further and you will see all the lower subheadings.
What can you do with all this information?
When you are using the AI Writer here at WA, you can add selected subheadings in the extra information box.
And take information from the top 3 sites in Google, to ensure you have covered every aspect of the topic.
But, please don't immediately publish the AI Writer article.
It is there to ASSIST you, NOT to give you a fully written post.
Tweak the post, add your own unique spin, add FAQs, an info table, a YouTube video, images, a CTA, etc.

As regards the WA AI Writer, you don't have to create a Hub, you can find it in Site Content.
But, really, it makes more sense to have a hub, that you can use with your existing website, as there is lots of info in there, and all the new training.
This is great info Diane. Thanks for sharing I have heard of Ahrefs but don't know much about it so will probably have a better look to understand more and see how it can help. :)
Thanks, Diane, for these awesome tips. I didn't think I could use Ahrefs because you have to be a paid subscriber to use the extensions. I will try that and see if it works. 😀
I just added it to my Chrome extension. I see it is working. Thanks for sharing this valuable information. Many other extensions claimed they were free but later changed to paid only. As Partha shared before, new businesses will offer free, forcing you to be paid subscribers like Keywords Everywhere with SEO Minion.

I add info from Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE) AI output for a search term into the "Optional Content" area of the WA AI-Writer because this is the info that Google feels is most helpful, and it's from "the horse's mouth." 😎
