Hi WA'rriors and WA'rriorettes,

Having got back to using WA comments engine again after a brief break. I have found that the "Spread comments over 15/30/60/90 days" facility is wildly in technical error.

Having requested 10 comments each on 3 seperate article I have found that in all cases the number of comments recieved were complete within 24hrs and in one particular instance 15 minutes!.

10 comments to spread over 90 days and getting them all in one day...pretty massive gaff if you ask me!

Anyone else experiencing such glitches?

Hi Derek,

We have so many people laving comments now that spreading your comments over periods of time isn't effective. You'll get them all very quickly.

We are well aware of this.

A few options:

1 - You can approve them at a time that suits you
2 - You can create multiple jobs over time

We've got a lot in the works in relation to SiteComments which should work out quite well and allow folks to get comments submitted over a time frame of their choice.

Too many comments is a great "problem" to have.

Cheers,

Carson

Thank you for taking the time to comment Carson, I'm sure this will be very helpful to many. It looks like good things are coming, according to your comment which is great news.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for a great platform.

Roy.

No a question of too many comments, more a questions of comments too soon. Clearly there is some kind of error in the code that does not block off a certain amount of comments and then delay the rest to suit the dripped out time frame as requested by the user.

Creating multiple jobs over time for the same article to be commented on defeats the purpose of requesting them to be dripped out!.

I think they revamp the comment system for the better. Echoing what Carson said, it's more like a 'good' problem because now, I have too many comments and too little time to reply.

Echoing my reply...not about the number of comments its the speed in which they are delivered!. Spead out.....yeah right!

Yes, I do notice this as well. It is probably a glitch in the code.

Although, I do not mind the multiple extra comments. Definitely good idea to pace the reply for now in order to spread them out.

This new comment technique is much more responsive than before. I appreciate the fact that I have more comments than expected... It is only getting better. =)

Thanks for bringing up the question.

Hey Derek,
Never used the "dripped" feature. When I want a comment I ask and receive (sometimes more).

Tried and True

Helen Derek,

Thank you for your blog post, it seems like many of us have had this issue, I wrote this post a few weeks ago. However, it's great that Carson has probably replied and given a very good answer, it looks like good things ahead!

Incidentally, I normally just approve and reply to comments over a period of time, rather than accepting them all at once, as Carson has mentioned.

Enjoy your day.

Roy

Yeah I stopped doing that and have been requesting them one at a time now, total time waster but everytime i request anything spread out its completed within the hour.

Basically, the dripped out function does not work.

Yes since day 1
