Facebook Scams!- Be Aware

Today there was a post about the non existant mentor. Well this falls in line with what may happen if you dont have someone in your corner to help with questions or idiotic ideas as I found myself in a couple of days ago.

Obviously we all know that traffic is the key. I wasnt sure exactly how to create facebook ads or nor did I have any social media experience as crazy as that sounds in our day and age.

So I joined a couple of groups in different Niches just to try and figure out how this all works and how to get traffic by the rules and by the book.

I came across an add on how to make money online and asked for the info. They told me that I would reach over 1Million people and that the traffic that I would get would boost my conversions.

Well I am messaging back and forth and they gave me the process of how to make this happen. They told me to sign up and that it was free to join. I joined like it said and got into the back office.

I clicked on traffic and it told me to western union them $250 for the traffic. My first thought was that doesnt make sense. They then asked for my phone number and I gave it to them.

I recieved a phone call from a guy is not from the US and I was having a hard time understanding him. He sent me screen shots of the results or what I thought the results were on six different websites that grew in traffic after this program.

The growth and money supposedly they made was unreal. Which is what it was. Like an idiot I went down to wester union and wired the money. Now I am not a gullable person but they had all of the information that I thought I needed to see.

Anyway went down and wired the money. 4 hours went by and I still didnt have access to that tab of traffic. About 5 hours into it I get a phone call with very nasty conversation and a lot of expletives coming my way because they didnt get the money. I sent them the reciept and called western union.

Western Union told me that they review every wire and these people are a scam and they told me more information about this group of people that I couldnt believe and honestly felt pretty stupid.

With that said. I dont want to blast the group here because I dont think the rules here allow me to but if anyone has a doubt just message me and I will give you the group of people. This is an organization of people all with different names and their identities dont match the pictures on their profile.

The great folks at Western Union told me they turn back about $1,000 a day of money going to these groups. All I can say is it did get me to believe facebook does get traffic.

Im just sharing this because I dont want anyone to make the same mistake. I feel pretty stupid but yet happy about the fact that I did recieve my money back. Be careful out there. Only my luck did I encounter something like this.

Anyway best of luck to everyone!

Gabe

The minute I smell a rat - online I don't respond. These guys will try anything to scam you. You very lucky to get your money back

Thanks for sharing

Richard

Thanks for sharing that.

Thanks for the warning and will be more aware of these scams

Thank goodness you got your money back. There is no quick way to get traffic to your website. Advertise yourself on social media, use Google or bing ads and make sure your SEO makes Google show you in their search results.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

You were one of the lucky ones thanks to Western Union... We have to be very vigilant every day online. I almost got myself in a jam a couple of months ago with website that was disguised as another one...

Grateful for you that it didn't go any further!

Keep on being vigilant!
Denis

I associate Western Union with the 19th century. Glad they helped you!

Kudos to Western Union....glad it worked out for you. I believe training through WA is the best and safest way to go...although it does take some time.
