It's time for me to give up!

I have decided that it is time for me to give up....the things that have been hindering me from working on both of my websites so that I can reach my financial goals someday. The second half of this year has been such a struggle for me to keep focused, motivated, and consistent that the site health of both my websites has suffered.

Sure, I have posted content here and there, but nothing on a consistent basis. It's time to change that and so I've created a list of the things to give up that has kept my focus away from working on my sites and staying consistent.

Self-doubt

I've been having to contend with a lot of that lately as I've been getting burned out from my job recently (mainly because I haven't taken any major vacation time this year to rejuvenate. That's going to change next month!) and I feel like I'm going to be stuck there forever and just spinning my wheels so to speak with my websites, never earning the money that would allow me to quit my fulltime day job.

It's time to give that up and start believing in myself more. I've reached some incredible milestones this year and I should've built upon that instead of receding into my self-doubt. I need to start believing in myself again and I need to believe that the content I post is good enough for people.

Time Wasters

This is a big one. Whenever I get home from work, I'm either a bit tired and take a nap, or I'm hungry and cook dinner, take into my room, watch a show on Netflix while I'm eating, and before I know it I have watched 2 or 3 episodes of something I like and 2-3 hours is gone just like that and I'm tired and ready to go to bed.

That is 2-3 hours of time I could've been researching and starting drafts of content that I want to post. Instead now I've wasted that time and made myself tired and ready to go to bed. It's time for me to give that up and restrict myself to only one episode while I'm eating and working on what I need to after that one episode is over.

Another thing that has wasted time for me is browsing the internet and websites that have nothing to do with adding content for my own websites. Sure it's good to see what is out there or what's going on in the news, but then that leads to more distraction as I end up going to other things such as Facebook and the newest memes and before you know it, time has been wasted as an hour or two goes by. Time start giving that up as well or at the very least wait until I've done some work with my sites such as research.

Time to start Fresh

Well now that I know what has caused me to be unfocused, unmotivated, and not being consistent, I can give those things up and start fresh and set a certain amount of time to work on my sites every day be it writing content, doing research, and playing video games. Don't worry, if I'm playing video games that means I'm working on one of my sites as my first site is a gaming site, it just means that I'm working on new content to add.

Also, I need to set aside time to work through Affiliate Bootcamp with my second website since I can promote WA with that one. I need to add another page to my site for reviews of things other than just WA (other products in the related field).

If I can stay consistent, work on my websites for a certain amount of time each day, I will get back on track, stay focused, and feel better that I'm actually doing something again that will lead to my success.

I felt something like a stone in my stomach, when I read your title!
I feel you and hear you. I know about this.
If you like, have a look at my post "Hope This Helps Someone", the latest one on my profile.
Going out on a limb here, but I think I might know where the snag is.....
I've got it too, think I will have to re-read it myself, frequently.....
Thanks for your courage in sharing!
Cheers,
Therese

Thank you, I will check it out :)

You are very welcome.
Have a fine Friday☺

Great post, thanks for sharing

Great post! Realizing where you need to improve your time usage is a good start!

Gained a good headline and jettisoned some useless things. great post!

I am glad you shared this, as there is a number of us that may have left or mentioned as you have the problems we face.
But, I think it is down to our circumstance at the time I suppose.
I am pleased you have decided to stay with WA.
All the best, Tosh.

Your resolve is great. Life will continue to cause the things mentioned in your post, but that's good, 'cause life is good. Just make try to keep what you want to achieve in the forefront.

Easier said than done Brian. I think most of us are guilty of the things you mention above, I know I certainly am. All the best in giving them up. It is rather like dieting, if you give up the foods you like all together, when you stop the diet, you can end up putting more pounds on than you had at the beginning. If you have not made a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly schedule and plan, you might start there and build in the topics mentioned above and see how that works.

All the best to you for the future :)

Sorry to hear that:(. You'll be missed. Best wishes to you:)
Blessings:)
Suzi

some day you will have way more time to watch more episodes if you sacrifice them 2 now
