Hi,
I'm using the flatblocks theme and have used a page template, built it out as i want it and saved it as a page. I've then gone into reading settings and set that page as

You may go under your pages tab and check if it has been created. Also in settings > reading you would be able to see from the drop down menu, make sure you select the correct page.

Yes, I've done that. The page is there and selected but doesn't show up when I go into the site. Have a few more things to try now. Thank you

i wonder whether that function still applies with the full site editing themes...
do you not create a home page template within the theme ...
when you click edit teme
and click on the wordpress logo then templates ...you may have a home page listed or need to make one...

ok, thank you

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble setting your static homepage, but I will be happy to help you out here. Here are the general steps to make a page your static homepage in WordPress:

1. Go to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the Pages section.
2. If you haven't already, create the page you want to use as your homepage and publish it.
3. Go to Settings > Reading.
4. Under 'Your homepage displays', select the 'A static page' option.
5. In the 'Homepage' drop-down menu, select the page you've just created.
6. Click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page.

Now, if you've followed these steps and your selected page still isn't showing as the homepage, there might be an issue related to your theme or perhaps a conflicting plugin.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take if this doesn't do the trick for you.

(1) Check Your Theme Settings: Some themes have their own settings for the homepage. Look in your theme's customizer or settings to see if there's an option to set the homepage.

(2) Disable Plugins Temporarily: A plugin could be interfering with the page display. Try deactivating your plugins one by one to see if the issue resolves. Remember to reactivate them once you're done testing.

(3) Clear Cache: If you're using a caching plugin or if your browser has cached the old version of your site, it could prevent you from seeing the changes. Try clearing your browser cache or, if applicable, your site cache.

If you've tried all these steps and you're still encountering issues, please don't hesitate to let us know and we will work on a solution here. I hope this helps you out here!

Thanks so much, gonna give all that a go

I'm mostly concerned with moving my site. I can't afford another year here right now. Maybe I should just let the site close down and then copy the posts to shopify.
One more thing. If WA close my site next month do I still own the domain and can I move it?

I've already asked this question but I can't seem to do this even after following others advice. How can I get in direct touch with site support, rather than the community, and

Hi

You may transfer or point to WA servers (if transferring domain has to end in .com, .net or .org.

To update your domain DNS settings to point to WA. Here are the DNS settings.

ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com

These settings will be updated within your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain) after the transfer has taken place. To transfer your domain here you need login current registrar and fetch the EPP code, there's a one year charge of $15, privacy included. One year more will get added to your domain.

Also it has to have passed the grace period of 60 days.

My domain is with namesilo. I know I'm being dense but I don't understand all the jargon. I've just looked up what the difference between a nameserver and DNS is, and I'm still none the wiser

Ok, thanks again. Can i just ask, have I lost access to site support because I'm not premium plus? It used to be really straight forward to contact them but now it's not

Thanks for the reply. I was actually wondering if there is a way to move the site without the domain. I want to change the domain eventually so don't want to renew it, was just hoping to keep the site on a free domain for a while til I decide what to do with it. Do you know if that's possible?

OK, thank you. Have a great day
