Try Not To Get Stuck

Everybody knows them…

You know – the guy or gal who excelled at sports in high school. When you run into them years later, they still talk about the time they won that game/match, and still wear a cutoff t-shirt. They’re stuck. They need to move on.

And how about the king or queen of the prom who, well into their thirties, don’t understand what happened to all of the adoration? They’re stuck. Those times are behind them. They need to go forward.

And finally… How about the blogger who just can’t seem to push the publish button because they think their article isn’t good enough, and they don’t dare to put it out there because they are afraid of all the ridicule they are going to receive? They feel they are going to bare their soul and their soul won’t be good enough. They're really stuck, but not in the same way.

Don’t get stuck before you get started. Don't let fear be the blockade between you and your dreams.

Bare your soul. Nobody laughs at you more than you do, right?

We have all been there. Just do it! Sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind.

You will be amazed at how great the response will be to your effort! This community welcomes you with open arms. Most of us will catch you if you trip.

Throw away that cutoff t, put the crown on a shelf and smile about what was, and push that publish button.

It feels good.

Fantastic advice here Dave! Much appreciated my friend and all the very best moving forward! :-)

Thanks, Nick.

I imagine a bunch of new signups texting, "Are these people crazy? I can't write. I've never written anything for anybody in my life!" Ugh. Meanwhile, some of these people have already written more than I ever will!

Haha!! That is certainty a possibility my friend but one you should not worry about at all ok!! :-)

You'll find that I don't really worry about much.😉

Me neither buddy!!

🤣👍😉😉🍻

😆

👍☺😉🍻

Great post, David!

Haha, I’m still reliving my high school days, talking about playing the battle of the bands and the school dances to anyone who’ll listen! Lol 😂 🎸

The difference is that you are still in the game. You aren't sitting around reminiscing about the good old days, you are still making music.

Yeah, I'll probably still be reminiscing about the "good old days" when I'm 95 and in a nursing home, and nobody will believe me!

They'll probably just increase the sedative dose. Oh well. 😎

Rock On! 🤘

Good advice.

Thanks.

You're welcome.

An excellent message, indeed, Dave!

Jeff

Thank you, Jeff. I always value your input.

You're very welcome, Dave!

Hi Dave,

What a powerful post, and a great reminder to all of us! It's easy to get caught up in past glories or fears. Sometimes, we just need that little nudge to remind us to keep moving forward.

Keep pushing, keep publishing, and keep growing. The journey is as exciting as the destination.

All the best,

Julia

For sure, Julia. Life is a blast if you live it!

Hello Dave

This is a great blog post and an important message. I know how it feels to be stuck especially when it comes to doubts over you blog posts. Motivation and fear are a big factor in business but you have to not let it stop you.

Never give up and never quit. You have to keep a positive mindset, keep going and push on no matter how tough it gets. Not seeing the success you want makes it harder but you just have to keep going.

I have struggled a lot with motivation and have quit WA twice in the past because I wasn't making money and lost motivation. But I have come back since then and learned to keep going not matter what. You can do it if you try even if it doesn't always seem so.

This is something that should be talked about more often. Thank you again for this great blog post Dave. All the best to your success.

Regards

Timothy

Thanks, Timothy.

Self-doubt can be really defeating. Not only do we give up on our projects, but we give up on ourselves...seemingly. The fact is we can always start again and do better next time. For instance, you say that you gave up twice, but you are still here, so you really never gave up, so good for you I say!

You're welcome Dave and thank you so much for your kind words. Yes I came back to WA in late 2022 to give things another go and I'm really glad I did. Thank you so much again Dave. All the best to your success.

Regards

Timothy

I bet it is a slightly different aspect of "that publish button" than you mean, Dave. But I just published the 2nd and 3rd episodes of my Kindle Vella story last night.

JD

Yeah, JD, it started out to be about the inner critic, but it's really about living a full life, experiencing everything, not just what's comfortable.

That's great that you wrote two episodes. That must have been a long night.

They have been written. I have just been dealing with life as well as procrastinating. There are a total of three episodes now. I just have to finish the fourth one and "WRITE The 5th. One and finish it. Then start the next story, finish it, then get the third story finished (when I am saying finished here I mean to the point where I want to pull them all together). Then tie all of those stories together and continue and finish.

Thanks

JD

I have to say that your Kindle Vella looks pretty interesting. What are you using for the artwork?

The picture is actually titled (something like) "You give me that, I give you this" by Bobby Jean Pentecost. You can find her on ArtStation.com and Deviantart.com, and possibly elsewhere. If you look her up, please let her know where you heard about her. Thanks.

The picture inspired my Story The Trade which is continuing and also the prequel The Vairn (rhymes with Air).

JD

Thanks, JD. I'll tell her you sent me.

Thanks, Dave. We have only talked online a few times so you might need to mention my story. I am going to try and get it published through Audible also.

JD
