I Thought It Would NEVER Happen!
This morning I spent time planning how I could focus my efforts on monetizing my site. It was a morning of 'thinking' rather than 'doing'.
I've spent a lot of time since starting with WA 'doing' i.e., writing content. But not many of the posts are affiliate posts as I've concentrated mostly on informative articles.
Later today, on a whim, I checked my Amazon account and discovered I've earned my first whopping great $1.44 from all the efforts of the last 7 months.......Woohoo!
Some would argue, it's not a great return on investment for all of the time, effort, thought and work that has been expended, and they'de be dead right. However, I don't see it like that. I see it simply as the beginning of more to come. The first signal that this thing is possible, that it CAN work. The signal I've been waiting for.
I mean let's face it, we all take a bit of a leap of faith when we start on this journey. All of us WA'ers following the training step by step, hoping we've understood it all, then putting the training to work.
Hours spent hunched over our keyboards posting into the wide blue yonder then crossing our fingers that what we publish resonates with people out there..... wherever they are.
Although I have 3 posts on Google page 1 my organic traffic is still almost nonexistent and the earnings did not come from any of those posts.
What is encouraging is that the money earned came from a post I wrote only a couple of days ago, a list post, which I posted on Pinterest and FB.
It shows that while waiting for Google to improve your rankings and send you organic traffic, it is possible to start earning income from other traffic channels too.
Anyway, I wanted to share my HUGE $1.44 success with you guys. I'm happy to see that the training works. Off to get busy with writing more monetization posts....

Yippee!! The first if many sales indeed! I had to wait 10 months for my first sale. At that point, i’m sure most people would have given up.
Ann,
Congrats. From small acorns great oaks grow.
Am also glad that you chose to share as a few weeks back I failed to do so when my first money landed, although it wasn't as substantial as your effort. It was just 29p but I do regret not sharing it at the time.
Congrats Ann.
You will always remember your first sale - it is the sweetest! It makes you realise that this is something that works and gives you the ability to bring all your dreams another step closer.
Wishing you every success
