Feeling Optimistic. Fingers Crossed
Many of you already know that I have been looking for a job for some time, because, frankly, I tend to go on and on about it... When I lost my job last October, I started focusing on WA more, and building my site, which up until then I had only really worked on half-heartedly.
Anyhow, over the past couple of weeks, I have tried to push all my worries and anxieties aside and just focus on the positive things in life, and instead of stressing about finding a job, I have simply started repeating to myself on a daily basis "I am accepting a great job, doing something I love and making a great salary."
Last night, an old friend sent me this message through Facebook: "Hey Craig! I see you're looking for a job. Do you consider yourself a good writer? My husband is a blog/article/marketing content writer. He's gotten really busy with contracts for a number of different companies, writing about topics as varied as junk removal to accounting to IT to pest removal. He's looking for someone to ghost write (all of his writing is ghost writing, as he doesn't get his name on any of it) for some of his contracts. Are you interested?"
I saw this message this morning, and responded in the affirmative. She wrote back and we traded a few messages, but she couldn't answer all my questions, so she had her husband call me.
. He is sending me some work today which I will be paid for. YES!
It may not be much (under $50 for now), but when you are broke, you take what you can get. Plus, he said his business is growing faster than he can keep up with, so if I do well with this, he'll keep sending me more.
The part that I really liked was when he mentioned what the job he is sending me today will be, and asked "do you know what SEO is?"
"Why, yes I do. I do, indeed."
So, fingers crossed. I don't know how much work I will get out of this, but it's a start. I can earn a few bucks, gain some experience, and maybe make some contacts and find out how he started this business of his.
That's a pretty good way to start my week!

Just keep repeating that same affirmation to yourself over and over.
