Humpty Dumpty: The True Story
In Nursery Rhymes, as in Life, There's Often More Than Meets the Eye.
HUMPTY DUMPTY: THE TRUE STORY
During the English Civil War,
With Colchester Under Attack,
A Cannon Was Fired From Near St. Mary's Church
Manned By One-Eyed Jack
A Walled Town, A Castle, and Churches Within,
And Strategically Placed on a Wall
The Cannon Answered Siege With Fire,
Humpty Dumpty, the Cannon Was Called.
Through 11 Weeks of Bloody Battle
The Cannon Answered the Call,
But, the Enemy Blew the Wall to Bits
And Humpty Had a Great Fall.
Humpty Dumpty Sat on a Wall,
Humpty Dumpty Had a Great Fall,
And All the King's Horses and All the King's Men,
Couldn't Put Humpty Together Again.
So, the Royalists Lay Down Their Arms,
And the Parliamentarians Went Back to Their Farms,
'Cause All the King's Horses and All the King's Men,
Couldn't Raise the Great Cannon to Fire Again.

Thanks Rick. A definitive way of having to break walls and cannons to get the omelet of peace! Good production. I like nursery rhyme origins.
Thanks, Rick, that's great!
I'd actually thought it came about because the Egg symbolizes prosperity, and the fall, hard times, but now I know better.....☺

I learn things myself from doing blogs, Steve. So much information out there-it's incredible, and I can make a song out of any of it! :)
I know and that is such an awesome talent.
I can make mud pies :-)
