Too many pictures?

A question for all of my WA friends. How many images in a blog/post is too much? In my daily blog today (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/cmaclellan/blog/happy-thursday) I mentioned a drill I am doing tonight and pictures. I was going to use this drill as the subject for tomorrow's blog here on Wealthy Affiliate, not for my website and was thinking of including a bunch of pictures. What are your thoughts? How many is too many? Is there a limit to the amount of pictures?

Please let me know.

Thanks and Have a Great Day!

-Chuck

Hello Chuck

There is no magic number how many images in a blog post.

The best way to gauge if you have too many images is to ask yourself
"Does this image enhance the reading experience or distract from it?"
If it distracts, take it out.

I hope this helps
Jeff

Agree,
I see some people just chucking in a picture for no reason.
I like to put in graphs and informational graphic content if appropriate. It gives a more professional feel.

Just make sure the images you use are relevant to the post you are writing about.
If you have a short blog post, thereis no need to have heaps of images.

If you are creating say a pillar post perhaps add some more for each subheading or every now and then to break up the long text as long as the images relate to the post and add value not just for the sake of it.

Wishing you well

Andre

I don't know the exact number because it depends on the post type. If it is an instructional post or a review post, I believe the more, the better. I prefer these post types with lots of pictures, at least one per step, and then if it is a complicated step, it needs more than one. For a simple post, I only use one image. For example, an update post to something that is going on, or if I do a conversational post, I use one to three pictures max. If a post like this has a bunch of pictures, chances are I am not going to continue reading. This is just my opinion.

Well Chuck, for my posts here, you can see that there are many images. In my website, there are only a few in every post!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff
Quite honestly your posts are what got me thinking about doing something similar.

Much appreciated, Chuck! I would say that you could try it at least. You might be surprised!

Happy Thursday!

Jeff

Hi, Chuck. "I don't know," is my answer, but I can tell you this: I have an article in the second slot on Google. I think it is pretty good. It is comprehensive, with reviews, diagrams, illustrations, and a picture. However, it is being outranked by a simple post containing 10 photos. Apparently, ten photos are not too many if the message is good.

Dave

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your input. After reading everyone's input I realized I wasn't clear in my post. I am talking about my daily post here on Wealthy Affiliate.....not for my website. I have someone else doing my company's site and I guess I could blog about it with a bunch of pictures and put the link to it in my daily post.
Thanks and Have a Great Day!

Oh, I see. I don't think there can be too many pictures for those interested in the topic.
