Two months in.
Well, here we are at 5th January and here is my blog to tell you all about what I haven't achieved in these two months. I joined on 5th November, went yearly premium with the Black Friday deal...and then...stalled.
Why? Because, in typical style, as soon as I had something to focus on, my entire family descended upon me from the other side of the planet (yes, really) and are still here. Granted, I knew they were coming, even when I joined WA.
December seemed to go by in a flash with one thing after another culminating in Christmas and New Year and the few days of 'recovery' thereafter. That's not to say I haven't done anything, because I have. But a lot less than I would have liked!
What HAVE I done?
Well, I started the Green training and couldn't find a niche. So off I trotted to the Bootcamp. DingDong, a niche appeared, out of nowhere, like a magical burst of cosmic illumination.
So off I went back to the Green training.
I have set up my website and am now hamstrung on writing my first post. I have researched a gazillion keywords, I am busy creating a mind map for how I want my website to look, and am slowing inching towards writing my first post on my chosen subject. I do make all of this far too difficult for myself. I seem to block myself at every opportunity and end up getting confused.
Deep breath. Back to Deepak Chopra's meditations... get rid of these limiting thoughts, limiting beliefs. Actually, just get on and do it. Write that first post. After all, no one's looking (yet) so just get on out there, write stuff, build it; and suffer the embarrassment and humiliation later that my writing is simply Not Good Enough.
In other irrelevant news, a huge storm hit over New Year, and January 1st started out rather inauspiciously as the internet was down for most of the day (yeah, well, I wasn't really going to do much in any case). And a huge tree had fallen down in my garden.
And now, I'm going to go back to the WA Keyword tool and keep on going... Hopefully I will be blogging some success here soon, such as "I've written my first post" and other ventures into ridiculousness.
Happy New Year, here's to everyone's success!

Well Clare you know what Franklin Roosevelt said right? "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." - Franklin D. Roosevelt Anyway ...
Sounds like you may have a fear issue and the way to over come that fear is to do what you fear and get this ...
Nobody is watching you write! Well not until you hit publish lol so you can write like a maniac and then go back, proof read it, change this or that, scrap the whole thing and start over if you like but just start writing. Write that first post, even if it is just a paragraph.
Hey I suck at writing. I have to force myself to write. I too fear what other people will think of my scribbling but ...
The more I write the easier it gets.
Well, I bet that was really helpful (sarcastic). Anyway ...
Dive in but check for rocks!
You are so right! Today is a new day and armed with numerous keywords I'm going to write SOMETHING!
Don't hog all the profits :) lol
Hi Clare and you are in the right path but need to take time to do a few things that will help and later today I will be doing a blog that will help ok
You are right, I will keep an eye out for your blog. I love your content and keep you as an inspiration! :)
Hi Clare, hope you got over the storm ok. At the start it can be a bit overwhelming. Next thing you become good friends with mr do nothing. Writing I still really struggle with it, my way forward was to start speaking my blogs and posts. Worked really well, folks do say I like the sound of my own voice lol. Try not to get hung up on things just do it, practice will make you better. Just follow the instructions /process it seems to work. I know it is easier said than done. Go Kiwi.

You are quite right, and I will do my best to push through these roadblocks. They are all of my own making and just submitting to the process instead of overthinking it all is my way forward. Thank you for taking the time to read my silly blog :)
Deep breath and write!
I have two recommendations for you: First, don't worry about site layout or other things until you have done all the green training - you CAN fix everything up later. It's far easier to just check off every action on the green training, and usually you end up with the results you wanted anyway.
Second, to write content easily:
-Write the headline
-Write an introduction to the article
-List 4 to 6 subjects that are relevant to the article (these will become sub-headings!)
-Write a summary that contains a call to action (click here, lave comments, read this, etc)
-Go back and write more details under each subject / sub-heading
-Go over the post and clean it all up, then add images and any links
Publish!
Ah thanks so much! That's really helpful. In fact a question I had for myself was "do I figure out the headline first", and you've answered that. I've been using the coSchedule headline analyser and mine seem to come up at around 74-76%. Trying to get them better than that. I am printing your instructions and pinning them in my exercise book (yes really) to refer back to. Thank you for taking the time to help me!
Hey, I'm flattered!
This was how I used to do my essays back in high school. It seems to be how most people are trained to read things (like when you pick up a new book: Front cover, back cover, inside blurb, chapter headings.)
Glad I could help!
I wouldn't worry too much about the details like headlines - it's more important to get traffic to your site by having LOTS of quality content. You can improve on the fine details as you go, and even go back later with a plan to fix up your early content.
Now that I've finished basic training, I am on a "clean up" bender. Check out my tips here: Keep training, fix up your site later! This weekend, i challenge you!

Well done.
