This weekend, i challenge you!
Yesterday, on 31st of December, 2015, I finished the last of the "Getting Started" courses. I'm a bit proud of myself, and I know a LOT more than I did when I started them about 6 weeks ago.
I return to my day job on Monday the 4th of January, so I have allowed myself the next few days to fix up all and any pats of my site that need work. All I can say is... What have I done??
For starters, the beauty of hindsight is wonderful - now that I have completed the basic training I can see literally hundreds of necessary improvements. Not to mention all the items I promised to work on "after I completed training" and the rest of the advanced training classrooms...
Fortunately, I was organised - I kept a list of training sessions available that relate to mistakes I felt I was making, and allowed myself time in which to review and correct everything.
Unfortunately, I forgot to allow time for sleeping.
In classic Jesse style, I was confident that everything would work itself out (to be fair, it often does.) However, I just wrote out the full list of things I want to change - and I have a deadline of 48 hours. Going through my list now, there is about 48 hours worth of work in there.
Some highlights are:
- Solve plugin compatibility issues with SpamShield (easily 5 hours work)
- Build affiliated supplier lists (as kind of "Master Review" posts)
- Redo menu / navigation system
- Redo all ads - get new CPC accounts, refresh sidebar ads, etc
- Add logo, switch to static homepage, add images and welcome post
- Change theme to allow better default link colour / underlining
- Check all images, replace if uncertain licensing, unsuitable, etc
- Generate tons of comments
- Remove affiliate links from existing "Non-Review" posts
- Undo previous keyword-stuffing...
This is only about a third of my tasks.
Well, I like a good time-based challenge! If anyone else has a weekend goal, I'd like to offer you a challenge to see how far we can get on the first weekend of 2016!
Let's do it!
Cheers,
-Jesse-

Well, your challenge sounds crazy so naturally I'm taking it on. My challenge - GET a site up. Just started yesterday so I'm way behind you but getting a site up by Monday morning...I'll definitely feel pretty awesome. I was going to say complete the 10 lessons in the starter course but I don't want to rush that :) Good luck!!
So, how did it go? I got my own domain, and I'm going to make my first post today (other than the about me section and privacy policy, I already did that).
I failed spectacularly :)
I did get a heck of a lot done, but my list just kept growing! So, although I failed, I'm happy with my level of effort.
I'm NOT happy that I'll remain excessively busy all through next weekend too ...

For anyone interested, I failed spectacularly!
Nonetheless, I made a really big dent in my list, so I just have to keep at it.
I even "booked" time off from my fiancee next weekend so I can get this done :P
