Have You Ever Heard Of Deep Interest Networks?

Hi Everyone

I was just looking through LinkedIn when I came across this article.

It appears to be saying that Blogging is a thing of the past, and that the way to go is with a deep interest network.

I must admit that I didn't really understand all of it, and judging by the comments below it, nor did a number of other people!

I did realise that it was advertising a product, but I would really like know if anyone here does understand the concept, and if so, what do you think of it?

If you would like to look at the post, here is the link:

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/starting-blog-2017-...

My limited understanding of it is that it advocates the use of some kind of membership site. Does anyone here have one of those, and if so, does it work?

If you have the time, I would be really interested in your take on this.

Very many thanks for reading this, and have a great, positive and productive day :)

I get the impression that the link you provided took me to a site where you can create your own social network, focused around or on one topic.

This could drive targeted traffic to your site or get so clogged no one will get back on it.

It is, however, a membership site and if you do it right, it could propel your website to the top of the analytics board.

You clicked the join link then? Would you think it is worth a go?

No, I did not click the join link; I just read the information on the landing page.

OK, thanks. Would you join it?

Not until I had a chance to look a little 'deeper' into it!

Ha ha Mickey :)

Yes, do you know or remember Ning? Very customized social network focused on a specific topic. It is for people who live and breath a particular subject. Corvette car clubs for example.

Ah, not necessarily useful yo us then? I never heard of Ning :)

It really depends on your niche.

Thanks for sharing this Chrissie...I'll be very interested to read if or when anyone has any hands on experience of it.

It would Soraya, many thanks for your comment :)

Thanks for the information. I think it is worth a try. It is a real challenge deciding the good and what is a waste of time. But I also don't think you can ignore new ways even though this person is selling.

Mmmm, good point Gary :)

Hey Chrissie, THANKYOU! I think this is exactly what I'm looking for to increase engagement with my followers. I like it a lot!

You are so welcome Lauren, please do keep us updated if you do try it :)

Looks like a way to enhance forum environments!

Many thanks Michael :)

This is adding a chat to your topic in addition to your website and it looks free to sign up. You then get people to join you, kind of like a chat room--pretty cool actually! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Des, in that case that is something I have wondered about :)

Frankly, it seems like it is a blog with quality content, narrow niche and great visitor involvement. Isn't that the training we receive anyway at WA?

You certainly have a point there Steve :)

Thank you Chrissie for this share. I skimmed the article you posted, I never heard of a "deep interest network" but find it intriguing. I have bookmarked your article and will read up more on this topic.

Although upon first reading, it sounds more like a much over-hyped small social network built around a particular niche.

Thanks Kat, that is kind of what I was concluding :)

Probably trying to rename the ole famous "Forums" which can be very basic and very deep all withing the same frame work. You gotta keep and eye on the world today... the same things come around again only the changed the name.

Time will tell..

Yes, could well be :)
