When people start to notice your site, it's actually quite scary!
Here's something that no one ever tells you about starting your site:
When people start to notice your blog/niche website, it's actually terrifying!
Over the past couple of weeks, I've had a few occasions of big sites/important people linking to me, or reading my work. It's awesome- I'm glad that my blog is finally getting some traction....but it's insane, because I think I still see myself as someone that doesn't have a clue what they're talking about ;)
For example....about six months ago, I wrote a post about starting an open university degree. It's been posted all over Twitter, and then I get a tweet from the Open University telling me they love the post and thanks for sharing. I was gobsmacked- they actually read my work?!
And over the past week a couple of my posts have been included in online 'newspapers' (you know, the ones that collate articles and link to them)- I thought nothing of it, til I realised that it was a pretty huge site that just linked to me. Again, it's awesome, but I think that you don't actually believe it will ever happen to you when you're starting out.
So, the moral of the story is: Keep going.
I've had this blog for over a year now, and it's just where I air my personal opinions and try to help other young people with money, traveling and personal development. It turns out that people do want to hear what you're saying, so don't ever stop believing that your site will gain ground!
On that note, I wish you the best of luck with your businesses.
Chloe

I also find myself thinking why would anyone want to read what I am writing - not an expert at anything, but I am very interested in what others are doing, saying and writing, and what you have written is very encouraging to me; it is good to be reminded from time to time that we should just keep going. Thanks Chloe.
Thanks for this post Chloe. For those of us just learning and starting out, what is happening to you now is our fondest dream. Reading you telling us "don't ever stop," is perfectly documented encouragement. Thank you again.

A very inspiring story Chloe, thanks for sharing and instilling further evidence for us that perseverance is what counts in the long run.
Well done on getting all of those "reads",,,,scary indeed!!

Thanks Chloe, a great story like yours give hope and the drive to keep working on my site.I am thrilled for you.
Whaouw great story Chloe!
I am in that phase were am thinking if I ever going to succeed at this.
I mean, be able to live from my website.
Although everything looks bright until now and I started only a month ago ( not yet ) and I am starting to get traffic too which is great, but some days, you know, you start questioning yourself and asking yourself' It's great but slow and it is enough to be able to live from it at some point?'
So thank you for this motivation boost :)
I had a look at your websites too and they just have it all !
Simple but straight to the point! Good keywords and attractive layout. I was looking for some websites like these before and maybe if I had found yours before I would have started long time ago :)
Keep the good work!
Chloe, this is new to me, I haven't though about the fact that getting noticed would be quite scary. But I can imagine where it comes from. Thank you for this post, I am more inspired and will keep in mind to keep moving forward.
I guess we can never be sure what would happen.
Cheers!
Funny you should say. I think of myself as 75% student 25% business...because I still have a long way to go. On the other hand, I know more about internet marketing than 90% of the population. Go figure.
I also have this wonderful feeling of being an 'insider'.
Go well from Janelle.
Yes Janelle, I completely agree. I don't feel 'qualified' to be telling anyone else anything, really, simply because I'm still learning all the time.
But you're right, even just by completing a few of the courses here we find ourselves miles ahead of everyone else out there. I guess it's all just about perspective.
Very exciting new path. Hey , I like to use a tag line and this little chat has uncovered a new one for me.is
Go with it and go well from Janelle.
