Is there any liability for using an i'phone shot of an image from a company selling images online?
The image could be used for my website.

Some good expert info here, Carl!

Jeff

Greeting Jeff;
Thank you for you back up support.
Be Safe!

Ha ha! you're always welcome, Carl! One thing I do is take a lot of pictures, and I can sometimes tailor-make my own images as needed. While this might not work in some cases, I have found that it has saved me a time or two!

Jeff

The fines can be hundreds of thousands of dollars and some companies actively and aggressively hunt down their images to begin litigation with the objective to profit from the fines. I personally know people who had to pay those sorts of fines. It's one of the reasons you should always use paid images because even if you use a free image you don't know that that person who uploaded it actually owns the image

Hello Catherine, okay, I did not know that i.e. even if you use a free image you don't know that that person who uploaded it actually owns the image... Sounds like I have some house cleaning to do! Thanks so much!

No you don't know who owns the image you don't know they haven't stolen it. If they stolen it from Getty images and you have used on your website and they sue you there is no defense that you put it up in good faith

Hi Catherine,
Thank you for your positive comments concerning the right way to use images by avoiding future trouble.
Thanks again and Be Safe!

Hi Rupert,
I learned a lot about free, paid, and plagiarized images. We have to be smart in building our websites,
Thanks for your comments and Be Safe!

Exactly as Diane mentions, however, even if they are not selling the image, you still can't use someone else's image without permission.

There are a lot of Paid Stock Image website out there, or you can use a Free Image Website, such as one of the ones listed on the post below.

Hello Chrystopher J,
Thank you for your positive comments concerning the best way to use images by avoiding trouble down the road.
I also want to thank you for the list of companies I can use for paid images.

Hi chjerpstedt,
Sadly yes, a simple rule of thumb is to not use anyone's image. Paying for images is the safest route.
Hope this helps.

Firstly you will have to Navigate toward the top right of your browser to locate a button with 3lines, from the drop bar menu after you have clicked, scroll to select "MORE TOOL". A new browser will pop up, then select CLEAR BROWSING DATA. then from the next page select the box that demands you clear date after which you click the clear button and you are done.
