Just Wondering What Lies Ahead

Success Stories

When you read all the success stories that happen to people here at WA, do you ever have the same thought as myself in that you wonder what lies ahead for yourself. Do you think about where it is you want to go next or do you think "that'll never happen to me" and just brush it off.

A Surprise

I can honestly say that I have also been off that opinion and never thought any more off it, so a couple of nights ago I was surprised to see a text appear on my phone inviting me to a meeting next Wednesday morning to meet some local business people with the prospect of something exciting in the future. I will say no more than this at the moment as I am not sure what it is all about but I will certainly let you know when I find out.

Believe In Yourself

I know how easy it is to not believe in yourself because other people don't believe in you. It is so very easy to let other peoples negativity affect our own feelings and the only people who can change this is ourselves.

When I first joined Wealthy Affiliate, I never told my family because I knew they would not be interested in what I was doing and they wouldn't understand. It is very hard sometimes to achieve things and want to share it with them but to also know that they don't care so they wouldn't show any enthusiasm or happiness. I do still get the occasional comment that it was time I came off Wealthy Affiliate.

I will say one thing though and my family know it too, I am proud of what I have achieved here at Wealthy Affiliate, ok I am not making money but the support and the help from everyone here has certainly helped me to believe in myself.

Never doubt your abilities and what you can achieve. Just put your all into what you are doing, work hard and keep going. Never compare yourself to others as we are all different and are all unique in our make-up. We all know different things and do things differently and this is why we can all reach out and help each other along the way.

There Is No Such Word As Can't

We can all be guilty of saying "oh I can't do that", and I know I have done this often but we can do anything that we want to do when we put our mind to it. Yes, sometimes it may be a struggle as well as being daunting but with the right training and the right help we do always get there in the end.

Never panic about things as there is always someone out there who will know the answer or be able to show you how something should be done. I always think that you learn how to do things better by trying to do them yourself than by watching someone else do it for you.

So when you read something that looks daunting and confusing, don't say "I can't do it", instead believe in yourself and say "I can and I will" then go ahead and give it a try then if you get stuck ask for help.

New Month

Here we are now in the Month of June and half way through the year already. Plenty time still to think where it is we want to go next and what it is we want to achieve most and work towards this goal.

Enjoy your weekend and

It is strange, I will not say that my wife is not interested, just has seen so many scams go wrong, shall we sceptical, but in fairness she does listen, when I say I have ranked on Google or my ranking on the site is improving. It is called how to make me, ensure that this works this time.

Hi Cheryl, what a lovely lovely post. I feel for you in regards the family. My family aren't interested either but at least I don't get the negative "time to get off that WA" In any case, even if we don't earn any money for a while, a while.....echo ...we are learning something really good, in time it will be quicker to put up a new
site. Anyhow that's what I'm telling myself ☺
I tend to get discouraged when I hear that "the powers that be" are going to shut down the internet
A lot of discord around the world.
So I send out "peace" "joy in the little things" thankfulness for what we have"
Cheers Jae

So right. I must say, having an accountability partner (Elaine) has been great for me. she is someone I can talk to about my WA work. My husband is not interested and is a negative person - no encouragement there. But Elaine and I can share our dreams with each other. - Shirley

Cheryl,

Well said.

I came across that realization my first month of being here at WA.

WA is bigger than me and is teaching me to be a better person.

Not a marketer that is constantly trying to focus on the bottom line. I wrote about my new goal in a recent post. I'm pround to call WA my new family. It was refreshing to meet markerters like me on this journey to success.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts,

All the Best,

Louisa

Beautifully said. Staying involved in the community is how I overcome all the doubts...I know if I never give up, do the work, stay focused...success will follow. As I wrote that, I thought..I am already successful because I've gained so much more than money already...friends, self confidence, laughs, New challenges, etc.
I love the summer months....full of light and love.
Debbie

Thank you Debbie and you are so right, we are already successful for the exact reasons that you have mentioned here.

I like the summer months as well Debbie, the long light nights, the sunshine (when we get it in Scotland) and the sun shining in your window in the morning and the birds singing. xxxx

I'm guilty of saying that I can not do this but I have been working really hard and some late nights. It has been paying off. Positive talk is a great tool to use when you say that you can not do it.
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend:)

Tina-

Thank you Tina and you are so right there. Talking positively to yourself when you are full of self doubts and are saying you can't do things.

I will do and you also. xxx

Aah, Cheryl, I know that feeling only too well. I take flack every day for the work I do online, which is why I find it so essential to blog here at WA where we support each other.

I went to a talk by Dr. John Demartini once where he explained that life always has to be in balance. There will always be positive and negative.

He said, so if you're experiencing criticism from one person look at who is building you up because both will always be present. So I do my best to ignore negativity, knowing it just has to be there for positivity to exist... and focus my attention on the positivity.

Through great adversity, people have triumphed. The greater the adversity, the greater the triumph.

OK... Am off my soapbox now.

So excited to hear about your meeting. It's awesome when you start getting recognised for your work.

Love and hugs
You are doing great!!!

Cheryl, you hit the nail right on the head. Failure often is in our own minds. I often tell my students when they say they can’t do it, to give it a try and see how far they get. I will always help them the rest of the way. But to see the expression on their face when they do accomplish what they could not, is priceless.

Thank you Harvey, we are our own worst enemies. I can imagine that once they have accomplished something they then feel that they can take on the world. It is a good thing to encourage people to just try it once and see how the get on rather than just saying the word that doesn't exist. xxx

Great post, Cheryl! Thanks for sharing.

Growth mindset expert, Dr. Carol Dweck has shown that abilities and intelligence can be developed. If a person’s mindset is changed from fixed to growth, it leads to increased motivation and achievement.

And according to Angela Duckworth, a psychologist who specializes in the subject of personal grit and self control, “You don’t need to have talent to succeed. You need to have persistence.“

The bottom line is researchers are beginning to understand the link between mindsets and achievement.

Thanks Glen, I am always of the opinion that if you have the right mindset you can achieve anything. I totally agree there that you don't need a talent, but persistence is definitely a must. xxxx
