Time it Takes to Write a Blog Post?
All of us here at WA need to be able to write consistent blog articles for our sites. The question many newbies ask is, how much time does it take to write a blog post?
The answer is going to vary by each of our own writing skills, along with our knowledge of a topic we are writing about. It will also vary by the research we do as well.
According to the latest research, in 2019 it takes 3 hours and 57 minutes to write a quality blog post. In 2014, it only took 2 hours and 24 minutes.
According to this same research, 38% of bloggers who take 6 hours or longer to write a blog post, have seen the best results. My articles take anywhere between 2 to 8 hours to write, depending on the subject and whether it is a product review or not. "Best of" articles will obviously take longer, especially if you do them right.
This information is based on a post length of around 1500 words. I try to never write less than 1500 words in my articles.
Hopefully this helps those who are wondering how long writing a post actually takes so they can plan their time accordingly.

thanks so much for this discussion, I have learnt a lot about time, I am new on the platform and I was really feeling like a snail in my writing, now I understand why it took me the whole night to produce an article. I work better at night and you just freed me...thanks...
Chender684 - I understand that the 1500 hundred words as an average is the goal. I have to believe it should be on how long it takes for you to get your convincing point across. There once was a man, not ordinary at all who gave The Gettysburg Address by the name of Abraham Lincoln which was 272 words long. I dare to think that anyone could improve on that speech at all. Your Post is well taken and well research and is a very good pointer for all.
Sadly we have to please Google now days, where Abe didn't have to worry about that or SEO.

Thanks for letting me know about the time it should take to write an article. I'm not a very good writer as I run out of things to say at less than 1,000 words. Guess I'll have to work a little harder.
Don, 1000 words is fine in the beginning. You will find it gets easier as time goes by, to write much longer articles. Hang in there and just keep writing.

Thank you for this interesting article. I just read it.
I'm not a fast writer... working on it and I know the more I write, the faster I'll be to completing my reviews.
Currently, it takes me 2 full days to write a review and that includes researching.
