When someone says that they submit each new article to Google or Bing or whatever, what exactly do they mean? What are the exact steps? Pretend I'm five, hold my hand, and walk

Hi Cathy, the advice you received below (the first answer) is correct, but this is not a necessary step.

If you already have All in One SEO plugin or Yoast plugin and Google Search Console set up on your site, then you don't have to "submit" your post to Google. Google automatically crawls your site and will note your new posts. People do submit it directly into the Search Console to make this process faster, that's it. Not required.

Hope this helps,
Grace

Thank you very much. :)

You're welcome Cathy, glad you're working hard at your site. :)

Thanks Chris!

Lots of help here Cathy.
When we talk about submitting to Google to Index we are talking about Google Console, where you can put your URL in and test it is working and ask for it to be indexed.

The link will help heaps.
Let me know if you are still lost.

Hi Cathy, in addition to what's said below....

Just so you know, if you had several comments on that one thread, you'll only be notified on the latest comment that got a reply. If you want to see if your other comments got a reply on that same thread, you have to manually scroll through the whole thread to find them.

The bell icon on the top right menu also gives you notification to the comment replies.

I hope this helps,
Grace

Hi - here is the thread. You need to click on the bell symbol at the top of the page and go to "change options". Make sure "comments" is ticked. Now, go to the thread and add a comment, so it gets added to your list again.

Thank you. :)

I think you should click on her profile pic and there might be something concerning email settings. If I'm wrong, then I'm certain someone more astute will assist you shortly!

I have an email address for my website that is forwarded to a gmail address. I don't want it to be forwarded anymore. What shall I do?

can you not goto the email tab and delete it?
you will find this under sitemanager - email
it should be listed in there
have fun
phil

I tried the delete option but it wanted to delete the email that I need to keep. I just don't want it forwarded anymore.

delete the forwarded one and create a standard email with the same name.
you will need to delete it first before creating the new one

Hi Cathy,

Have you tried the "Insert Headers & Footers" plugin? You can add your google adsense code to the "Scripts in Header" section on the settings page after you install it.

When you're done adding your code, click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page. See my screenshots.

I hope this helps.

I'll try that. Thank you. :)

On the free comments place; I will leave someone a comment and let them know. They usually reply, maybe always. I can't find my old commets, remember who I commeted on, or othe

I just keep a list of the articles url.

Unless the website has that option for you to check to notify you when there's a reply for that comment, then no, there are no notifications and you would need to go back to the website where you commented to find out if the blog owner replied.

So, yes you doing the bookmark folder is a good idea.

We don't usually see the replies we leave through site comments. If it is one you are interested in seeing the reply you might want to PM the person if you know their name and ask them to let you know when they reply.

But to take notes of the website URL may be the easiest way to find the reply a day or two later.

Laura

I've started adding the links to a temporary bookmark folder. Thanks. :)

Laura, the main thing I don't like about the current SiteComments is the authors' names aren't given. I used to follow those I commented on and took a look around their profile.

The reason given was some people don't want to leave their login. Well what's stopping allowing people to enter this IF THEY WANT TOO. There should be an option for this.
