Adding Images to your Posts
Do You Add Images To Your Posts?
Happy Spring, everyone!
I am wondering if most members are adding images to their posts. If not, it is a great idea to start! Of course, having quality content in your articles is imperative, but readers love to see images while reading! Do you? I certainly do and have learned that it is a good idea to add them to your posts.
I'm not saying that you should add a photo (image) for every single parargraph ... but it is wise to have a few if your post is, say, 1,200 to 1,500 words. I normally have 3 or 4 for this size post. If your posts are 3,000+ words, then adding a few more is fine! If you feel some photos are too large, cropping or resizing them is a good idea.
Using Royalty-Free Images
This does not mean that royalty-free images cost nothing, but it does mean you can freely use that particular image without having to pay additional royalties. You may want to consider this at some point. You would pay (just a one-time fee), for the license, and then you would have the right to use that photo indefinitely, within acceptable ways, of course.
Adding Free Images
There are several avenues wherein you can acquire FREE images for your articles! I have been using these and found them to be useful for the intended purposes.
Please be sure NOT to ever copy any photos from Google or elsewhere that are copywritten or cannot be used without permission from the owner of the photo. This can cause trouble for you that you do not want!
Where Can I find Free Images?
Here are some places that offer FREE images for your use, without any repercussions:
1. Right here here on Wealthy Affiliate (WA)! How convenient is that! When writing in Site Content, you can choose from tons (I don't remember the exact amount), but there are literally SO many free photos to pick from there! (This is just one of the awesome things that we have available here at WA!)
2. pixabay.com is another. Be sure not to use the ones that have imprinting on them, as these are not for free use.
3. wikimedia.com is another.
4. photogen.com
5. pexels.com
6. Lastly, as a fellow member here mentioned ... using your cell phone's camera is another way to take some photos (no permission is ever needed)!
This is just to name a few. There are many more if you search on "Google." I hope this has helped some members here! : )
Please "Like" this if you found it to be of use to you or found it to be of some interest.
Warmest regards,
Cathy

As a blind person I find it pretty much impossible to select images to add to my post, although Pixabay do have good captions. I still never know what I'm getting. Not only that, but some posts just don't have images that go with them.
I have also found a lot of great images on PHhere.com
Thanks for the other ideas on where to get images.
Rick
Ditto! : )
And whenever I buy a cookbook, if it has no photos, I pass on it! That is a Must ... LOL!
Nice Cathy thanks!
Those with camera phone’s, start snapping away, i use quite a few from my phone lately! No permissions from anyone!

You're welcome! : )
Right, that's a great idea about the camera. I should add that. Good thinking!! : )
Best wishes,

Hi Cath88,
I was wondering can I use a snippet of an image without violating copyrights on a post. I want to use a small piece of a larger image. I want to make a snippet of an ESRB rating symbol like Mature 17+ M ESRB.
I notice some images have the circle with the little r in it. I know I can't use those without violating copyright law, but if I find the same image without the circle with the little r, can I use that image without violating copyright laws?
I just want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong.
Thanks johnny
