Do You Want Nice, Free Images for Your Site?
I have mentioned several times here on WA that I make my own photos and images for my blogs and sites.
Taking photos from the internet is risky, even images claimed as "copyright-free" might actually hold copyrights and as soon as you use those images you might get sued. The chances of it happening are slim but it is possible.
Buying the images is a better idea however I would often spend hours looking for a proper images to buy and sometimes I still can't find what I want. The costs of these images could be high as well.
These are the main reason I make my own images, It only takes me a few minutes and usually I can make exactly what I need.
Do you like the image on top of this post? What about the frog? or the dice?
Personally I think these images look good enough to be on a website and as I mentioned - it only takes me a few minutes to make these. If I was a good photographer with proper gear and if I knew how to use PhotoShop properly, I could probably make a lot better images.
So here is the thing:
I was thinking of creating a step-by-step tutorial for fellow WA members and show them how they could easily make photos like these for their own sites. However, Wealthy Affiliate is not a "Photography" site and I don't know if people are actually interested in such tutorial.

We all need this tutorial so badly Alex... .. most of the members are exploring "Wikimedia" and soon we all are going to have the same images on our site.. :P
Hi Alex - anything that contributes to someone being able to build their business, is highly relevant to what WA is. It's not a photography site - it's a business site - and imagery for your website plays a large part in the training here.
I would personally love to see a tutorial like this - then there would be little worrying over getting sued!
I look forward to seeing it when you get around to it - and I can bet it will be a very highly used training!

I would be interested =). I think there are enough questions everyday about images and copyright that plenty of people might find the information useful.
That's why I thought it would be a good idea, since many people keep asking where to get photos... Hopefully this training will help :)
YES! YES! and YES! If you can put something up about how to use a standard digital camera and something like gimp or other photo software that would be brilliant. Images are such a key element to an interesting website ( especially the niches I seem to choose) that being able to make your own is brilliant.
sounds great Josh, remember to dummy it down for me :-) I have a digital camera but don't know how to get the pictures off of it lol and the software thing would also have to be dummied down,... that would be great .
Some pictures can look a bit rubbish but with some simple manipulation in some software they can then look awesome. I am sure the training will be very clear and easy to understand and help you get your photos off the camera at last :)
