Doubts

Have you ever second guessed yourself and the business you have chosen after you've done all the training and taken months to build your website just the way you wanted it?

Have you wondered if you really have what it takes to commit to making the business work?

Are you struggling through the lessons and trying to implement them and not quite grasping all the technical jargon and how to apply the learning?

Have you thought about how you're going to manage your time between your full-time job and

the hours that your chosen niche and new business will take?

Have all the training, the hundreds of emails and the pressure to be indexed or rank higher begun to make you wonder if this is really worth it?

Have you doubted your ability to fulfill the commitment to meeting your potential customers' needs as you have promised you will on your website?

Have you allowed fear to creep in and cloud your vision and the knowledge that deep down under the feelings of doubt, you know you've got this?

If you've answered 'yes' to any of the above, know that you're not alone!

We signed on to Wealthy Affiliate because we have a dream. Dreams take work, time and commitment in order to come to fruition. Some may come true, while others may not - but the knowledge gained cannot be erased and we refocus and try again.

The only person who can apply the pressure to succeed is you. This isn't a race to the finish line unless you want it to be.

Some of us are driven by the day to day hunger to make it work by any means necessary. Others are slower out the gates and prefer to walk than run the proverbial race to succeed.

So what if your writing isn't the cream of the crop? Practice, use the tools and resources available online and the recommendations from the writing gurus among the WA community and you'll get there. If all else fails....outsource! There's always a solution!

Wherever you find yourself along the WA journey, know that you're not here by chance. Time to kick doubt to the curb and get on with the business of achieving your goals! Let's do this!

Cheers!

Maria

P.S. This is as much 'self-talk' as it is a blog post.

Sincere best wishes to everyone on this journey!

I don't necessarily have doubts, Maria, I just lack the passion for AM, at this point. It would not be the money that drives me. I'm using my sites to promote my books, and I have been writing and publishing my books as opposed to building the sites out! I'll get there, but am in no hurry!

I'm enjoying the journey here and am learning very slowly, savoring the moments! Heck, I'll even eventually give AM a try after I get my other goals accomplished! Excellent post, and have a GREAT day!

Jeff

Hi Jeff. Great reply. Wondering what the AM is you’re referring to?

All the best

Totally understand Jeff. You've carved yourself out a pretty good space here at WA and I think it works well for you. I can definitely tell that you enjoy the journey! Thanks for reading the post and enjoy your weekend! Cheers!

Maria

I do, indeed, Maria! There never seems to be a dull moment here!

Jeff😎👍

Maria,
Thank you for posting this internal struggle which we must all feel at one time or another. _It is good to know that many of us go through the same struggles.
Personally, I feel my struggle is to 8nderstand and make use of the great tool of WordPress. What works how?? How can I correct errors I have made without destroying what I already published?
Where did I see this or that tool and how shall I use it?

I think I managed to min gle parts of one article with parts of another, repeating myself many places. How can I untangle and remove that which I do not want, and where can I store it OFF the website?? I often feel lost in the jungle.

I am not ready to give up. I have the internal fortitude to handle the problem, but feel I am not doing so efficiently. And I worry that I may run out of time, if not money before I understand the system.

I had a friend who stopped over who looked at my messed up website, and saw just how to manage one aspect of it. She was a programmer and had WordPress experience. She made it appear so easy! That gives me hope.

I need to go away for a long weekend. If the garden does not yell at me, I hope to tackle this again next week.

I WILL WANT SOME HELP WITH SEVERAL QUESTIONS NEXT WEEK. I think the answers are in the trainings. I have to listen several times until I find answers in what I think I heard.

How can I remove certain posts/pages from my website, and where can I store them while I work them over or replace them with corrected pages and posts?

Thank you,

Shirley

Hi there Shirley.

Wordpress is also my biggest struggle at the moment. I am struggling with the concept of the home pages and posting pages and trying to find the pages in Wordpress. I wish there was a step by step training in Wordpress that we could follow. I am stuck at my second blog and maybe should just do the blog and worry about the website later. I always want to jump ahead and fly before I can walk. I decided that today is not the day to struggle. I have a full time demanding job and on my off days I have to rack my brain with WA as well. Then I hear people say to give it time. One day off will not be that bad. If you find some useful answers and websites, please let me know. TeflJohn

Hello Shirley, thank you so much for reading my blog post. I feel your pain and know that in my early days I felt Word Press was trying to destroy the few brain cells I had left! However, I have to say that my technique was to implement on WP whatever lesson I had done that day so that the instructions and information was fresh. I would play and pause Kyle's videos and have the WP dashboard open in another tab- the dashboard is where all the work for your website takes place, and I would carry out the task as the lesson instructed. It's fine to repeat the videos and the lessons until you get it. It literally took me about 3 months to get my website up and running the way I wanted - and I'm still doing tweaks even now. Make use of the questions that you can ask the community. Use the magnifying glass at the top and type in a question when you're stuck. This. Will. Take. Time. Just remember that the dashboard (backroom of your website), is where all the magic takes place. As for your posts/pages, you do all your editing on the dashboard - Go back to Lesson 4 on Level 1 and ask your questions! You'll get it soon enough. Good luck!

Hello John, like in my reply to Shirley, at first WordPress can be a bit of a challenge. You just need to always remember that the work for your website all takes place behind the scenes on your dashboard or backroom. I recommend that you review Kyle's startup videos again and go through the steps one by one as you finish a lesson. Open another tab with the Dashboard to your website open and literally follow Kyle's instructions step by step. Ask as many questions as you wish. There's always support from someone who knows. Go over the start up training again and take it one step at a time. Good luck!

Thank you for your suggestion. That is what I have tried to do. I'm not at home right now, but return tomorrow, and will hope to return to my training videos. Thank you. will try to follow through.

Hey TEFL John,
We have something in COMMON. i LOVED teaching ESL in Korea, and then back in the States.
So Website building is a much different ball-o-wax!
When I rweturn home tomorrow, I hope to try to set up a side-by-side training and application approach. I have much to do.
I wish you well, too. I have yet to send the WA Family a second blog. I've been busy listening, note-taking, trying to apply....
Side-by-side should be more effective, don't you think?

You've got this Shirley!!

Brongsugah,
Your reply is most useful. Thank you for clarifying where the work and magic happen! Knowing where to ask questions is also valuable. I'm hoping this week I can get moving again!
I have other things demanding attention. I hope things settle down. Most likely they won't.

You've heard of the proverbial "Jumping from the Fryingpan into the fire!" If you see any activity my direction, look out! It might be me streaking through WA site, trying to make it happen, dripping hot oil as I fly by! (OUCH! That hurt!)
Shirley

Excellent Post & Share Maria. Everybody has doubts at sometime or another. When you get in the training & and follow the step by step it should quell your thought somewhat. As I saw at a programming school as I passed under the Lintel in the front door was carved the message; "Knowledge Builds Enthusiasm".

Edward

As always Edward, you add a little piece of valuable learning and life lessons with that one quote "Knowledge builds enthusiasm". Hopefully, it will for this group of WA Irregulars - even on the days when you don't much feel like it. Cheers!

Maria

Thanks Maria.

You're welcome!

All valid points Maria

Thanks. Appreciate you taking the time to read.

Your Welcome Lol!
