Recently I did a blog post about making things happen not waiting for them to happen. One of the things I know is that for you to make money off your website you have to have traffic to your site. Not just traffic but targeted traffic. People that are interested in what you are offer.

Here is the secret just like he talked about in the video.
If you go to blogs and forums within your niche and leave good comments you get to leave your website URL.
Not in your comments but in the form you fill out. Leaving you URL in your comment is called spamming and will get you banned quickly.
You want blogs that are getting traffic and comments. Not a blog or forum that does not have much going on. A place where what you post will be seen.
Several things happen when you do that.
People in your niche see you commenting (called branding), they read your comments and agree or disagree with you. Then many will click on your link just to see what you are up to and you now have a very targeted visitor to your site.
Now here is where the math comes in.
If you comment on 10 blogs or forums a day, 5 days of the week.
That means you will comment 10 times a day for an average of 22 days a month.
22 X 10 is 220 comments with backlinks a month.
That is 220 new places that people can find your comments and URL that did not exist before. In only 1 month and other than time spent it is free traffic.
Now multiply that by 6 months.
In 6 months at 220 comments and backlinks a month you now have 1,320 places that people can find your link and remember your name (called Branding) at no expense other than your time.
Is there 1,320 places right now where people can find the link to your site? Can you see where that might make a difference?
Do not wait for things to happen make them happen.Does this work still today?
Yes it does, I still use it with my niche sites.
Make something happen do not wait for it to happen.

It works to get traffic, you learn more about you niche and you get great post ideas from the post you read and the comments left on the blogs by others.
Boy, that's a lot of "visiting" I suppose I could try that, but I may not enjoy it.

The trick is to find blogs where you enjoy participating. As you visit these blogs, you can get quite a bit of good niche-related information. They are a two-way street, though -- contributing to the give-and-take of the discussions is very important in getting the most out of blog participation, both in terms of branding and links.
What you do is find ones you do enjoy and that have good information. You are going to be reading or skimming 10 post a day. Think what you will learn and the ideas for post you will get.

It is also advisable to create blogs and build a following in some of the popular free blogging sites.
Build the blogs in the free blogging sites and have the links and ads point to your main money sites
