Learning and Laughter - Anchor Text
Though there are many things that will influence SEO, one of the techniques that I use which really helps to give a little boost to your search engine rankings is doing internal linking. What do I mean by internal linking?
I mean linking a page or a post on your website to another relevant page or post on your website. Google loves it when websites utilize internal linking. Just look at their websites, not the search engine portion, but sites like Google Analytics or Webmaster Tools. They have many internal links on almost every page.
When you create internal links it not only benefits your SEO but also your user experience. It helps to keep your website visitors on your website, and the longer you can keep them there the better your chances of getting some kind of conversion.
HOW TO CORRECTLY CREATE LINKS
You will create these internal links by using what is known as Anchor Text. To put it simply, anchor text can be a keyword or a relevant word that tells both your website reader and Google what the page or post you are linking to is about.
For example. On my Wealthy Affiliate promotional website, being that it is not good for SEO to have affiliate links within the content of many pages, I have the majority of my affiliate links on my Wealthy Affiliate Review page.
When I am on other pages and I want to steer my readers toward WA, I will write something like the following. “To get a better understanding, read the Wealthy Affiliate Review for a complete rundown of options and prices.”
I would then make the anchor text of the link to be, “Wealthy Affiliate Review” and this tells both my readers and Googlebot when it crawls my content during indexing, what that link is all about.
AN ANCHOR IS IMPORTANT
Last night I watched a movie where the anchor of a ship played a very important role. Click the below picture to see the 3 minute video of the “anchor” scene. Do you think you know what movie it is?
So you see, the anchor is always important. And when it comes to internal linking just as important for SEO. When creating a link, which is the same way you create any other kind of text link, make sure your internal links open within the same browser window.
Yes I know that some of you like to keep opening a new browser window (tab) for each internal link, but the general rule is that you only open a new tab when the link is going off of your website so your reader does not lose touch with your website.
Just look at the Google help websites, Amazon’s website, eBay’s website and many of the well ranked and established websites. When they do internal linking, they always open the link in the same tab. – So make sure to use internal linking with anchor text to boost your SEO.
NOW FOR SOME HUMOROUS TEXT
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE ANSWER IS?

They were space aliens that had come to earth, after answering a transmission that was sent out into deep space. It was their intention to contact their planet to come and invade the earth but because of that group of sailors on the battleship Missouri they were able to save the planet.

Internal linking is something that everyone should do, especially if you want better Google rankings, and who doesn't want that.
Thanks for the internal linking tips working through some content lately and was wondering how to do it, this blog is right on time. As always the laughs were right on time too, even God is texting these days, who'd thunk it. Thanks for your time, training and tickles.
You are welcome Mark. Internal linking is something I have always done and it truly is a great way to boost your Google rankings.

I can see it! LOL. I love the "That was not chicken" one too.
BTW - I have heard not to use the same anchor text for every internal link - change it up such as "Wealthy Affiliate" for one and "Wealthy Affiliate Review" for another link. Glyn
Yes, you can change it up but it should always be relevant text.
