How to Increase Website Traffic for Free

Would you like to know how to increase website traffic for free? The obvious way is through social media marketing and I am about to do some training on this. I have been on a training tutorial roll lately! If you haven’t read them yet, within the past three days I did a two part training on the basics of WordPress, see links below.

PART 1

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/the-basic...

PART 2

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/the-basic...

I have already done a training tutorial on how to use Twitter and another one on how to better use Pinterest to promote your business, see the links to all of my training tutorials at the bottom of this post. Of the 4 social media networks I use to increase website traffic for free, Google+ is #1, Twitter is #2, Pinterest is #3, and Facebook is #4.

However lately Facebook is about to become #3, knocking Pinterest down, mainly because I am spending more time there to build it up. So since I have already done a tutorial on Twitter and Pinterest, I am in the beginnings of creating training on how to use Google+.

Like the WordPress training it will more than likely be a two-parter mainly because there are so many aspects to cover. Unlike Twitter and Pinterest that are both unique in their own rights, Google+ (like Facebook) has a ton of different features.

So before I start writing up the training, and because I will not be able to cover everything, is there anything in specific you would like me to mention in the training? Obviously the ways in how to increase website traffic for free will be one of the topics, but I would like to know if there is anything else you would like to know about Google+ for social media marketing?

Please leave your questions and comments below. And to check out all of my training tutorials, click the link to my training profile page below. Thanks!

Hey, Robert, if you start with the basics and work your way to blog postings that will be fine with me.

Bishop

Yep! That will be part of my Part 1 training.

I can't wait to see your G+ training Robert. Although I have really focused my interests in using that site as a social media platform for promoting my website, still I know there is much more that I could learn!
Thank you for all of your efforts to instill your knowledge of online business ideals for members here at WA!
Sincerely,
Jeff

You are welcome Jeff and just for the record, I probably still don't know about 25% of what Google+ can do. There is SO MUCH that it can do and I have heard about them, but haven't had the time to learn it all. That being said, I do know a lot of little things from actually doing them that many people do not know.

Thanks for the post, Robert. I needed a new look at social media. A lot to learn so here we go!
Bill

I will be sharing a lot of basic features to get people going on Google+. There is just too much information about it to cover it all.

Hey Robert
... not knowing better, I have both a personal G+ (has the most contacts), and a business G+ account.
I not sure I've made things more difficult for myself.

How would I handle most effectively and integrate these two accounts?

Personally I do not see the need to have two separate accounts. Being that I am self employed and my online business brand is me, then using one personal account is all I have. Plus most people are more than likely going to follow a personal account than a business account.

... so how would I move those folks into my personal account?
There may not even be a way - not sure.

How many do you have? If not many you could ask them to follow you from your personal account, making mention that you are consolidating your contacts into one account.

I am new to all the social media platforms, so the basics will be of interest to me. I have done well with building a following on Pinterest, but I have spent most of my time there. So how do you get customers on Google+.

Getting followers on Google+ is a little bit different than on Pinterest, mainly because Pinterest like Twitter, are unique social media networks by the way they are structured. Google+ is structured a little more like Facebook when it comes to followers.

I see it doing good

Thank you Divican

Hi Robert,

My comments would follow the same Lines as Cathy and Tanja. I have spent no time on Google+, but take note of your comments as to how you rank the social media sites that you mentioned. I am starting to spend some time on Instagram and note that you have made no comments regarding same. Any reason for this?

All your tutorials are well done with lots of "takeaway on each. Standing by for this next one...

Rick

Thank you Rick.

I didn't mention Instagram because I do not use it. I probably will at some point in the future but the four I do use is all I can handle right now.

I know that's right!

I have a Google+ account but no idea how to use it. How to get followers and how to follow others. It would be nice to start at the basics, circles, hangouts etc

Yes Brenda, I will be explaining how to gain followers and create circles.

Well - how about starting out with the basics? Like - why Google+ is important. I'm no expert in social media, but I get the feeling Google is attempting to compete with Facebook. Not sure which platform is going to bring more business ... and not sure which platform is best for particular industries.

For example, it makes sense that a chef or a seamstress would do well on Pinterest because they can post so many different images. But as far as how Instagram, Reddit, Twitter and Facebook go ... there doesn't seem to be any differentiating factor.

To be completely transparent, I haven't completed the social media training here at WA (don't fuss me). So - don't know if these questions are answered in the WA training or not.

Many thanks for considering this!

You should take that training, it will address some of your questions. Kyle gives his reasons on why Google+ is the most important, which is kind of obvious...it's a Google product and if you want better Google rankings you should use their products. Many people other than Kyle acknowledge this.

Yes, Pinterest is the best for niches that are very image oriented, but all social media networks, even Twitter, advocate you posting with a photo. Facebook, Google+, and Twitter shares get more engagement when an image is used.

I still do not really understand G+ so I am looking forward to this training!

Well you should have a better understanding of it afer I publish this two-part training.

I definitely do!
