In this training I am going to explain the basics of WordPress and the various aspects and uses of the WordPress editor. I will not cover everything, you can explore much of it yourself, but I will explain some of the areas not included in Kyle’s training. There is a lot and I will be using many images, so let’s get started.
EASY BACKUP OF YOUR WEBSITE CONTENT
Before I get into the content creation and SEO aspects of the WordPress editor I would like to share with you a very quick and simple way to backup your website content. If you are not doing this on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, you really should. It would be a heartbreaking feeling if you lost all of your content.
There are a couple of ways to backup your website. One way is to use DropBox and if you want to know how, just type DropBox in the search bar at the top of the screen. Welshy has done a video training on it. However if you want a simple and quick way to backup your website content that takes no more than 30 seconds, you would do the following.
In Kyle’s Boot Camp training he instructs us to backup our website content before doing any kind of updates to WordPress, whether it be themes, plugins or WordPress itself. Even if you are not doing any updates to WordPress, it is still smart to backup your content.
To do this, all you need to do is click on “TOOLS” in the left side menu in the WordPress Dashboard and then on “EXPORT” as seen in the image above. When you come to the Export screen the “All Content” should already be selected. All you have to do is click on “Download Export File.”
This will create an XML file and download it to your Downloads folder on your computer. Though Wealthy Affiliate has real-time backups of our websites, you may need to revert back to an older version of your content should a problem arise, and having the XML file on hand will help you to do that.

This was a great tutorial and you covered so many things that I have been wondering about. Maybe I did just not get far enough in the Get Started Training but for me it was all very apropos!
