I was going through some old journals of mine and came across this excerpt from (I believe) Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Think_and_Grow_Rich)

I wrote this in my journal in December of 1996 and as I look back, I am amazed at how many of these principles I actually implemented in my life - check it out.

12 THINGS THAT CONSTITUTE REAL RICHES

  1. A positive mental attitude
  2. Sound physical health
  3. Harmony in human relations
  4. Freedom from Fear
  5. The hope for continued achievement
  6. The capacity for applied Faith (Everyone has faith - in what is the question)
  7. Willingness to share ones blessings with others
  8. To be engaged in a labor of love
  9. An open mind on all subjects towards all people
  10. Complete self discipline (This one I'm still working on and I'm 68!)
  11. Wisdom to understand people
  12. Financial security (Money comes last)

True riches begin with a state of mind. A definitness of purpose. An intention to align with the divine for prosperity and abundance for all. We don't have a Supply problem on this planet - We have a Distribution problem on this planet - There IS enough for all.

Namaste y'all

thank you for sharing, great principals, they never get old, still actual now as in Napoleon Hill days. I love all of them, but especially number 9. When I started to work at Social Services, I had to work a lot on that principal, to hear the people stories first, and then, make a judgement. I have learned a humility and it helped me tremendously in dealing with people and helping them. All the best to you, great article

so very true and a great book worth reading

Love the post! Thanks for sharing

Show's the depth of Napolean's teachings as still relevant today and more need to read that book "Think and Grow Rich".

You're welcome and thanks for taking the time to read it! Blessings

Nice reminder, Bob. Isn't it incredible, the power of writing all that we desire down? Thanks for the post my friend. Namaste, Heather

Thanks for taking the time to read and share. You are a blessing to the world in ways you will never know. Mitakuye oyasin

I would reword 5 to the desire for continued achievement. Hope is ephemeral desire leads you to take action.

I agree and these are the words of Napoleon Hill in 1937. And for me, Hope is still an important spiritual quality when it comes to maintaining a postive attitude.
