Is there a difference between writting a post, and writting a blog?

A blog or blog roll is a series of blogs. Some call a blog a blog post... Pages are different in that they are not a part of the blog roll. However, you can use a page as a parent page and keep adding pages like a category.

A blog is a SERIES of posts :-)

Hello, a blog is an ongoing dialogue. It's where you continue to post and talk to your audience and interact with them. A post is an article you create to put on your website. There are websites that are entirely blogs and there are websites that have both. I have both on my site. See www.learn-to-skate.com and you will see I have a resource page with articles and a blog where I post what's on my mind on occasion. Hope that helps.

Blog is a website, it can be create by WordPress, or paid to someone to write a website for you. In your website, Blog can be the place to display all your posts. For example, I have a personal blog to write down all my parenting experience. And in this blog website, I have some categories to classified different topic. People also use Blog as a page to drive traffic to their website. For example, I have a online shop selling beauty product. I create a blog page, and I post some tips everyday in this blog page, then it will help me get more potential customers. Do I answer your question?

Thanks!

Blog in principle implies series of posts, i.e., blog roll:

Blog and post are frequently used interchangeably .

Thanks for the clarification!

Hey Bonnie, the terms can somewhat be synonymous.

Traditionally, there were HTML websites..... later came "blogs". ... which are more of a conversational type interaction that grew into more.

Now, there are HTML websites that also have a blog part of their website.

But, when we say "writing a blog" we really mean "writing a blog post".

WordPress is a blogging platform that can also serve as a full-blown website. More accurately, it's a CMS (Content Management System).

It's the number 1 "blogging" platform out there, because of it's ease of use, flexibility and speed.

Generally, you have to pay for all the features of WordPress as some WordPress hosting platforms charge for the higher end features. But, WA holds nothing back (unlike WordPress.com).

I hope that helps :-)

Very helpful. Thanks!

Hi Bonnie,
Kyle is explaining Askimet in the level 1 training, lesson 5, setting up you website. Maybe (re)visiting the lesson helps if you didn't already. You could remove the Askimet plugin and re-install it. that's what I probably would do.
