Enabling Comments On Pages

I noticed that I was seeing a comments box on all of my posts, but none for my pages. For those of you that don't know or are not sure how to enable or disable these comment boxes on your pages, let me tell you.

If you click on the pages icon on the left of your screen, you will see the list of all your pages. Put your cursor over any of the pages, a little menu will pop up underneath the page name. Click on "quick edit".

You will see a Allow Comments box just click the box and a check mark will appear, that will enable your comments. Remove the check mark to disable comments on your pages.Make sure you hit the save button when finished.

If that didn't work then click on the name of your website icon to visit your website. when there, keep your cursor on the name of website icon and a menu will drop down. Click on customize, and then click the Post/Pages Options.

You will see a box that says Enable comments on pages box, put a check mark in the box to enable.

I don't know if this option is on all of the themes, but it is on the MH Magazine theme.

GOOD LUCK

Very helpful.

well I have done both steps but my comment box will not stay on page . When I ask for comments and they tell me there is no comment box.... also they tell me my image takes up the entire first page ... however when I see it it is a 300x300 image. I have worked on this for a week . can someone help me

Thanks Bill ! I thought it was impossible to comment on pages but I thought it was weird so I looked it up and here you are ! :)

Stunning, thanks Bill that was so clear and simple, I had already replaced a page with a post just to get the comments box before I found your discussion. So glad I can activate comments for pages so I went back removed the post and reinstated the page .... DONE! cheers john www.classactreservations.com

Found it. Thanks for info

Hello Bill. Great post. I saw this comment check as you described however I am having a problem I still do not see the comment section even after I checked the comments enabled on my pages. Any Suggestions?

Check your theme has it for a start - open "appearance> themes>" there will be a website/support link there.
Look in the widgets and you may have a comments widget.

Thank you. I hope it helps.

Thanks Bill. I'm building a new site and the theme I've chosen (Omega) doesn't have comments enabled (unlike the one I used on my other site) on the pages and it's been driving me mad trying to figure out how to enable it.

What worked for me was selecting 'Theme Settings' from the menu rather than 'Customise'. This option was automatically selected (it's under the 'Appearance' menu).

At the top there is a check box to enable comments on posts and one for pages. Selecting this worked :-)

I probably would have stumbled across it one day lol, but your post pointed me in the right direction and saved me a lot of time.

Thanks again.

Glad I could help point in the right direction Steve. I figure all themes has some kind of setting for that. You just have to find it. lol

True. I searched the net and found all sorts of complicated supposed solutions being suggested and all it ends being is simple check box!

That seems to happen a lot. So I usually keep searching knowing that most of the time it turns out to be something simple.

Thank you for your good advice.

Hope it helps. Thanks for the comment Masamir.

Good words!

Thanks I tried not to make it to confusing:) thanks for the comment.
