Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

Last Update: November 25, 2015

Happy Thanksgiving! Straight from the U.S. of A.

As the Thanksgiving week is coming up, let's celebrate all the things we are thankful for that the Lord has blessed us with throughout the year! King David's Psalm of thanksgiving is a great reminder of what God did, does, and will keep doing for us each day! Wherever we are in the globe, there is always a reason to be thankful for any day of the year.

Psalm 103, A Psalm of King David.

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits ~who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.

But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children ~with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.

The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.

Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.

Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.

Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

Not just a weekend... Yes, be thankful everyday and enjoy a sweet week and the rest of the year!

Blessings,

Elizabeth, I'm talking meta-physics. Are you familiar with 'Quantum Jumping'? Where you merge with your twin-self.

Does it have to do with quantum physics (which I don't understand, lol)? I never heard about that.

Oh, that's sweet! Thank you. Just like you I do get so entangled in everyday workload. Reading other members' blogs help a lot. I find it refreshing to come here and read uplifting blogs. Although, we are not allowed to write about any religion but it is man's universal need for God's presence sometimes we can't help but share. I appreciate those who boldly declare their faith. It blesses me.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful article on the importance of thanksgiving in our lives.Thanksgiving should be done almost everyday of our lives because we live not by our strength, but by his mercy and for his love. He provides for for us,prospers, secures us, heals us and in fact,he is all caring despite our disobedience.
All these put together is enough reason to be thankful to him every day of our lives and obey his commandments by doing that which is right in his sight always. The lord is worthy, merciful and magnanimous and finally, he is awesome, his LOVE is greater than the greatest. Let his love and mercy abide with us all in Jesus name, amen.

Been there done that. Homeschooled my own and some from the streets. Looking back, if I could do it all over again, I'd spend more time with my children and less on pushing them. More confidence in my love for them and less concern about what others thought. I'd spend more time curled up on the couch with my kids, and less time worrying about their spelling and grammar.
Homeschooling, has so many pros, one being time with your family.
Thankful for that time in my life, missing it and those snuggle hugs from little people.

Hi, ups and downs, My granddaughter is born 2 days ago, that's the up, and my father in law gets palliative sedation and will die in a few days. My husband lost his job. My son cheated on an exam and I have to go to his school next week to talk. So we are facing life to the fullest.

Then the question rises, how will I experience this all 5 years from now? My son will have finished his school, and have a job, my husband is retired, my granddaughter will be 5 and my mother in law will probably have joined my father in law.
