How To Increase Premium Member Conversions

I was thinking about how to improve the conversion of invited members to premium members. My goal is to help people achieve financial freedom and I believe they need the premium membership to really achieve this goal.

Maybe an incentive program for new members would be a good idea. If there was a reward for completing Course 1 of the getting started classroom within the first seven days, then I think more people would get familiar with the quality of the training here at WA, realize they need more of it and sign up to Premium Membership so they can get it.

The next challenge is to keep these Premium Members engaged so that they don't just fall by the wayside and give up when things get too hard. The content and community here at WA is amazing at achieving this goal, but anything that might improve on this could be a good thing. I have a few ideas on how to achieve this. I think the most important thing is to get newly premium members to form their own team and to have an experienced member as their mentor.

“It is a fact that in the right formation, the lifting power of many wings can achieve twice the distance of any bird flying alone.”

In addition to becoming a mentor for all my premium members, I was thinking about introducing some friendly competition among members who are up to the same place in there training. The focus of the competition would be on their websites and on the progress they make and particularly on the number of quality posts they produce.

So now I have a few questions for everyone:

Can you please give me some feedback on the ideas I have presented?

Do you have any ideas on what I could offer new members as an incentive to complete their training in seven days?

I think there's a ton of benefits from being here already. But, I reply to people that are wondering where the value is.

I think the biggest increase to conversions would be some genuine interest shown by the people that recruit you. I know the guy that brought me here doesn't know my name, doesn't answer my emails, hasn't been to my website, and probably wouldn't pee on me if I caught fire. That's okay, he got me here and that's good enough.

I think the best plan for increasing the success rate would be a Mentor program. It's the best way for me to learn. Many people have offered me help, and they have helped. Just as often they take you down a sidetrack that is important to them, but you haven't gotten to in your lessons.

I spent over 13 hours yesterday with some wanna-be mentor. The next time somebody offers me help, but doesn't ask me where I am in the Lessons, I'm going to graciously decline.

I wonder how many people I'm following that are still here.

I think many (if not most) of us can definitely relate! Tell ya what though ... I am just now following you. I'm by no means any sort of expert, but I will graciously help if I can and if not, then help to try and find your answers. God Bless! ~Cathy

13 hours!!! Wow, I admire the commitment you both have, you in wanting to learn and your would be mentor in wanting to help. Shame it didn't work out.

I think that having you ask for assistance on areas of the lessons you were struggling with and then asking you about any other questions or concerns you have is the best approach for mentoring.

Going off on a tangent just gives people an information overload and results in no real progress being made.

If the information you are passionate about is directly helpful to answer a question, great, but if not, write a blog about it so it can be shared with the people who need it.

Thanks for your feedback, great to know that the idea of mentoring is something that would be valued.

Cathy thank you very much. I saw your follow and went to follow you back. Turns out I was already following you.
I certainly appreciate anybodies offer of help. I understand why people are here to run their own business.

I promise you I will check out your website, and your blogs, so I'll know where your expertise and comfort range is. If you check me out, and something glares out at you to be fixed, don't be shy, just slap me in the head. You will get my attention. Phil

It wasn't 13 hours working on it, it was four emails over 13 hours. I couldn't get a direct answer to a direct question, "What exactly do you want me to fix and why?"

I've been mentored and I've been a mentor. The best way to really learn something is to teach it to somebody else. I've said it several times, when I get this down I'll be able to teach a house plant.

A mentor, looks at where you are, and plots a straight path to where you want or need to be. You don't need to know the chemical breakdown of an egg to scramble one. A mentor cuts through all the fat and gets down to the meat, to the bone.

Then the person that's been mentored becomes the mentor.

The simple fact is you can't help somebody else, without helping yourself.

Phil, I agree, some genuine interest shown by the people
that recruit you would be a great improvement in longevity.

I really enjoyed reading this post because it shows how much you care for your fellow WA members. It is nice to see how you are brainstorming ideas to help other people advance their own goals. May God bless you for what you are doing. Please, let me know if there is something I can do to help. Blessings!
Hilda

He really is, Hilda! You are a Godsend for reminding me ... God Bless! ~Cathy

Hi Hilda, thank you so much for your comments. I am really touched by your generous offer of help! If Kyle and Carson want to start a mentoring program available to all WA premium members, then I would be happy to assist and would be able to get some valuable input from you and other generous members. I certainly have some good ideas on how to do it (desktop sharing with someone who is stuck on something in the WA training or has a query regarding their website for example), but it would need to be approved by Kyle and Carson first.

In the meantime, your encouraging words have helped me already.

Ben

Thank you for this article Benny. It shows how you have the interests of people at heart and that is probably reflected in your business. I think mentoring new members is a possibility but that happens when we communicate with others in WA.I have learned that an online business demands the same commitment as an offline business and there is no easy way out. If a person is truly committed the path opens up but it has to be walked upon step by step.
Sometimes we also have to stop and admire the view.

Thank you very much for your feedback Marilyn. I agree that the most important mentoring happens all the time through the WA community.

I have the idea that maybe having an extra level of engagement and care might give people who would be otherwise successful a flying start and maybe help people who have the motivation but don't quite get there to also achieve their goals.

I understand your point. It is a good one.

I like the idea but also see downsides to it.

First, this will be additional work for the WA team as they will have to incorporate all this. They'll have to create code to track who, what, when, and where every referrer and referee is in the process.

Second, there's no doubt that some members will be interested in this, but how would it be structured? How many recruits do you have to bring in? How long do they have to stay? Reward for them to complete a course and then eventually, some referrer will want to know what they get out of it (even though they've already received a commission).

Third, Kyle and Carson have spent the last 10 years trying to keep premium members engaged. Statistically, most people will sign up for a recurring "whatever" but will generally drop out after 3 months. This is just basic marketing info but no doubt anything we can think of that is feasible, Kyle and Carson would want to hear about it.

I really do think it's a good idea, it's just the implementation that will be something to muddle through.

Hope this helps!

God Bless!
~Cathy

Hi Cathy,

Thanks for taking the time to leave your well thought out comments and ideas.

I know that Kyle, Carson and all the WA community have great content to keep members engaged, I love this and will continue to contribute to this content.

If any of my ideas or ideas others come up with after reading this blog are ideas that Kyle and Carson think could improve WA, then I will be extremely happy to have been able to contribute!

What I am suggesting will not require any extra work for anyone other than myself or anyone else who is inviting new members and want to use the same idea for their referrals. I plan to make the offer of mentoring only to the people I refer who become premium members.

God Bless
Ben

I really love that you are thinking outside the box, Benny! Sometimes I wish I had your youth and vigor! Most of the time, I'm happy just being old crodigidy! (is that a word?) God Bless! ~Cathy

People move as they move. Some people don't want to be told what to do. Some people just want to check out WA to see if the offer is true. Other's are serious and want to change their lives then they realized it's work and quit. Some people just can't afford to pay for the training at the moment.

Then there's the one percent mind set, these people take their business seriously and will keep continuing on their journey until they succeed. There are plenty of people here at WA doing it. I know I see them. I know who you are.

WA's platform is the easiest way to do it. What I mean is once you pay your fee you got everything you need to build a business.

Training, website, hosting, keyword tool, live training, and support. If you really think about it, $359 is really less than a dollar a day. You can't find what WA offers NO WHERE. If they can't see the value of what WA offers maybe they need to quit. All the best :)

Thanks for your insights.

I realize that there are a lot of people that join WA for the wrong reason or who don't have the motivation to continue to the point where they can make some money.

What I want to try and do is try and increase the percentage of people who have success by helping them get over a few hurdles so that they have more chance of getting to the light bulb moment where they realize that they can make it work.

I understand what your saying. I know there are hurdles to deal with when someone is building any business. I have mine and other people do too.

For some reason I think people think because the business is online that they will make millions quickly.

Maybe you should let the people who sign up through you know that it takes work and commitment.

Jay also gave an awesome live training on 6 weeks to profit. If you haven't checked it out, this maybe some good incentive to keep people motivated.

I believe in supporting people who come to WA whether I got them in myself or if someone else brought them in.

Also a buddy system when times are tough to keep someone motivated. Sometimes people don't want to blog about it, and just need a friend to PM.

Sorry for sounding so harsh. I guess some of us see the value that WA offers. :) I'm really a nice girl lol

Lol, I must have read it wrong, it didn't come across to me as harsh, I found it very helpful!

I agree that it is important to let people know up front that it is not going to be easy, I have hopefully made that clear on my affiliate website.

I registered for the 6 Weeks to Profit seminar and was online for some of it before I got called away. I am looking forward to watching the rest of it and am a huge fan of Jay's videos!

I also try to help everyone in any way I can and am passionate about doing so. If I am going to offer a free mentoring service, it is going to take a lot of time and that is the reason that I am currently only looking at offering it to my referrals who become premium members. If people who are not my referrals ask me a question, I will still do my best to help them. If Kyle and Carson want to start a mentoring program, I will be happy to assist and to donate some of my time for it.

A buddy system is a great idea, I hope it happens!

WA is wonderful! I love the community and I love the training. You haven't said anything that would make me think you weren't a nice girl, I look forward to more conversations with you in the future :)

Oh good, I'm glad I didn't :) All the best!

Hello Ben,

You will get a notification when/if one of your referral posted his "Money goal". That's a great moment to encourage them and also your "way to see when new users have started first course"! :)

Be sure to set up your follow ups messages at
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/share/messages
It's quite a great tool to help them out, and improve the conversions into premiums.

Concerning incentives... mhmmm... maybe you could give them some personal advices and show them how YOU use WA and what it brings to you :) Could be a PDF, short video,... you name it.

Just an idea, I must admit I didn't do it yet myself :D lol.

Good luck!
Tanguy

Hi Tanguy,

Thanks for your help and suggestions. I do have some messages setup, but they are a work in progress as I think I can improve them.

Great ideas for incentives, thanks!

The first month at $19 is a pretty good incentive. It's what got me!

Benny, might I response to the question: ''Is there a way to see when new users have completed the first course of the getting started training?''

The answer is inside ''$ WA Affiliate Program" (on the left) click ''messages''. That's the answer we are given.

I haven't had any referrals but will be interested to read the responses to this.
What has kept me here so far is the community as a whole and the closer friendships I've made.
It's hard work, sometimes frustrating and not a get rich quick scheme. If the people who come in expect that then they'll leave no matter what the incentive.
For the ones who want to work then I like the idea of a team with a mentor, would be a lot of extra work for the mentor though.
Hmmm, interesting! :)

While I think your idea has merit, the fact is, most people are not willing to do what it takes and will quit within a couple of months. People want to be spoon fed success and it just doesn't work that way unfortunately.
