RIP Chris Cornell

Last Update: May 19, 2017

I know this is not related to marketing or making money online but I'm going to share anyway.

Chris Cornell, an amazing artist who sang with Soundgarden, Audioslave (and other artists) has left this earth. Took his own life and left a black hole in this world.

Absolutely destroyed I never got to see this man preform live. One of the most unique voices in the rock scene.

If you want, please take the time to have a listen to this playlist. Lots of amazing acoustic covers: https://youtu.be/IuUDRU9-HRk?list=PLEYlykAyXHhEA8wWcTa_N7Ncntdi7xU3v

I had the pleasure of seeing him acoustically this year. Thanks for posting this. He was an amazing artist with vocals like no other.

I still feel there some other things at hand, since Chester, from LincolnPark died the same way.

Senseless loss! I am sad he could not be saved to give more. Sometimes I wonder about these supposed suicides. I hope all stones were overturned to understand what really happened. This said, without seeing a report, I only say this since we have had such a 'rash' of accidental OVD deaths.

Thank you for shating about Chris Cornell, Beau. And I disagree, although this may not be directly related to marketing or making money, indirectly, it relates because the core of what we should be about: people.

I never heard of Chris Cornell, but to hear of anyone taking their own life saddens me. Just from that video and listening to his voice, I can tell he was a rare and beautiful talent.

Rare indeed my wonderful friend. I have now purchased an electric guitar so I can start playing again. I have been disconnected from my creative side for far too long!

Yeah, I feel you, Beau. I start to feel restless if too much time passes when I don't tap into my creative juices. Writing is definitely a creative process, but I'm referring to my love of crafting like making greeting cards, decorating, or making hand-made gifts.

What guitar did you buy? I used to play professionally until I broke my left hand badly. Surgery got it working but no fine motor functionality so... no more guitar playing. I've got some links [youtube and soundcloud] if you're interested?

This is the last gig I played before breaking my hand. I'm kind of half hidden behind the female singer Floss. The other guitarist Callum is on the left. https://youtu.be/Ir9SbHTMsLI

This is a showreel I had to do as part of a music degree I was taking around the same time. My stage name was Will Kinson. https://soundcloud.com/will-kinson/sets/will-kinson-showreel

I wrote the youtube track 'Crush' and the last two soundcloud tracks 'Wild Horses' and 'This Is Our England' as part of the coursework. The other Molden songs on soundcloud were written by Matt Molden.

Ibanez are good guitars. I had a fender custom shop 1962 strat. Don't ask how much lol

Do you have any music of your own online?

I'm shattered by this - totally unexpected, out of character and just completely senseless. Such a sad, sad loss.

He was a MASSIVE influence on me as a musician growing up. His music was so heartfelt. A real loss to the world. I`m going to try and do a black hole sun cover soon. I NEED to.

Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland, Andrew Wood... damn.

At least Eddie Vedder is "still alive", I guess.

Thank you Grace :) I am going to purchase all of his albums on vinyl and add them to my collection. With all the other great albums I listen too while sipping whiskey near the fire at night.

I'm going to be devastated when one of the members of U2 pass on. I've been following them for the last 30 years.

I feel ya. Love that band too. It's hard to resonate with the music of today. It lacks substance.

Yes I so agree!! I feel like a loser not really liking the music of today. Guess I'm turning into an "old fart". Lol

hahahaha I think it's the youth of today that are losing with the tripe they have to listen to today.

I feel proud that my kids, my 18 year old daughter and 13 year old son know the songs and bands that their mum and dad love most.

Theres hope yet!

That's good to hear! My kids are still young, and I've tried getting them listen to U2, but they haven't really caught on yet. Lol

Our family have always been the singing type. Never really sung kids lullaby's or things like that. Always songs we as parents loved. Seldom the house sat in silence. There would always be music that we would all sing along too.

Our kids have broad knowledge of songs from even beyond their parents era.

It's funny the culture we build for our family. It's not uncommon for us to stop in the middle of a shop and suddenly start dancing and singing to a song we hear.

We get some weird looks but we really don't care lol

That's so awesome!! That's the difference between your family and ours then. :)

As much as I want to sing better, my husband cringes when I sing as he's more musically inclined but he still humors me when I want to karaoke. :)

My kids like the top 40 stuff for now... they are 6 & 8.

A lady who swims with sharks could never be an "old fart"!

But if you are, then I am also! I don't think I could name 20 cureent artists or songs...I'm forever stuck in the 80's & 90's.
