Craftiness is Happiness

I chose this for my website because, through the years I have had many many crafts. Mother taught me to embroidery when I was quite little. I continued while growing up and eventually made things for my Hope Chest. The things I made thru the years came in handy when I married my childhood sweetheart. We had a wonderful 32 years and three children. He was killed in an accident when I was 50. I was lost and lonely until one day I decided to find something to take care of

I decided on a fish tank. I soon found a 10 gallon tank was too much work. I got a 55 gallon one and some gold fish. I also had other kinds but those gold fish grow so fast. I got a huge black bug eyed one and named them Samson and Deligha. In about a year I decided to build an outside pond. They loved their new home. It was awesome watching them in the winter in hiberination. They just swam aroun in the frozen pond and slept.

Now the tanks are gone and house is lonely. I got two beautiful birds I named Heckle and Jeckle. I soon renamed the female. She had such a red head I named her Lucy. She was a hand full. She was a mess getting out of her cage. Guess she liked her freedom. That was her undoing as she liked walking on the floor and one day I put mother's dog out and took her to Dr. Meantime my daughter in law came by and Mother's dog got back inside. When I got home I found my sweet little bird dead on the floor. Dog didn't do anything but kill her. I of course, cried a lot but still had Heckle. He got lonely and picked off his feathers so I took cage and him out in the garage for fresh air. Some how he managed to get out and I never saw him again. It was nice weather so I know he found a home. My nest was empty again.

I took up jig saw puzzles. The bigger the better. I enjoyed that for a long time. Still do. Next I decided I'd learn to knit. I am still a knitter. I made so many beautiful things. In fact

after losing my job in tornado I would have gone stir crazy without having something to do.

My husband started me painting when my much talented Mother gave me canvas and oil paints. I took lessons for many years and now am instructing my daughter in arcylics. We have our art studio set up and paint daily. She loves it because it keeps her mind off the constant pain in her hands. I'm amazed she is doing so well. She has hands that resemble stroke victim caused by the cold virus making her paralyzed.

So this wonderful program is going to allow me to make her life livable when I'm gone. I do need to hurry this on. No one knows when the day will come and I've lived 84 years of my time. I take this very seriously and plan for the best.
