I have failed again

My referrals were pouring in. Every month I got plenty of them. My high month was 24 referrals. Referrals every day. You would think I would be fine with that. I wasn't.

I was also getting some sales. Not as many as I thought I should be getting compared to the referrals, so I made some changes to fix it.

I changed up my content to make sure the referrals I was getting would convert at a higher rate. Good plan. Let the fix begin.

I worked hard to make the changes. Tweak this, change that, rewrite those things and off I go. That should do it. I am one smart fellow, right. Let the conversion rate fly.

I succeeded. I did it. I succeeded in doing away with getting referrals at all. That's right. The changes I made slowed down my referrals drastically until finally I was down to 2 for the month of August 2016. Yay me.

That's too bad because during that same period my traffic jumped nicely. If I hadn't messed with things the referrals and sales would have been what I was trying to get to.

This is not the first time I have failed here while trying to improve something. The times are numerous. Not only failed while trying to improve something but just flat out failed to understand this or that. I have had more failures than successes. Many more.

My point is that I have learned much more from my failures than I have from my successes. My successes made me a little complacent. Relaxed. Not working as hard as I should. Comfortably numb.

I like my failures. They put me on edge. Keep me on my toes. So I lost a bunch of referrals and probably sales too. I will get them back or expire trying. That's the good part of it. It's not over.

I am still in the game. I live to fight another day. Without failure there isn't any success or if there is it's not as sweet. So embrace your failures, learn from them and then you move on.

Don't use failure as an excuse for giving up. Because after your latest failure huge success may be right there just waiting for you. Press on no matter what.

Let the games begin.

Thank you. i appreciate that.

Barry

I am really sorry, and I empathize with you. On the bright side, my Dad, when still with us, used to always say,

"Honey, when life gives you lemons, you have to make lemonade."

He was a very wise man, and I always did what he said.

Cindy

I don't look at it as a bad thing. Just another learning experience. Thanks for read it.

From your voice I can tell your dad was a great man.

Barry

so what is your advise in how to build up a good content? what are your best ways that worked? You have a very optimistic attitude. Keep it up.

I think we all have to find our own way. Develop our own voice and groom an audience that will keep coming back to us.

Track through your Analytic platforms which content is getting the clicks and try and write more of it.

My best advice is to just keep plowing through until you achieve your goals and more. Simply do not quit.

The longer you are doing this the better you get. Just like any other learned skill.

Keep at it. You'll get there. Thanks for reading it.

Barry

Thanks for sharing your story and experience.
Here's to all of our failures and of course our successes!

I look back on the time that i have been here and it's hard to believe how far I have come. It's really nothing special I have done.

It's just because I stayed. I never put any time limits on success. I figure if I keep at it until I make it there is no doubt in it.

We all have the chance here to learn a marketable skill that once learned will provide us with a good income for the rest of our lives.

Give us the ability to work from anywhere in the world with a connection and a computer. Freedom to live the life we choose to live.

I just don't think you can place a time limit on that. Thanks for reading it.

I wonder why you failed? Did you try to improve something? What kind of improvement can be if you failed?

Affiliate marketing is a constant test. Test this see if it works. Try two things see which works better.

The point was without failure there isn't any success. Thanks for reading it.

I see. You share here your experience. Good luck:)

Yes.You can blog about your experience on your profile and share your experiences with other members.

It acts as a release, for me anyway, to get things off my mind. You can use it any way you see fit as long as it's within the guidelines.

Click on your profile pic and feel free to share what's on your mind any time.

Good luck to you also.

Barry

I would like to have your kinds of problems. Some success to mess up. So have you managed to identify the reason for the reduction?

Stick around Ty and you will. I have no doubt. I think I have and I am working on it.

Wow, that's amazing that some tweaking could hurt so much. Thanks for sharing though. What do you think it was that actually hurt things?

It's really amazing how changing one word in an ad or in content can effect clicks dramatically.

It matters. Every word we write matters. How we write it matters.

Thanks for reading it.

Barry

Hopefully things will change again for the better :)

I have no doubt. Thanks for reading it.

Sometimes switching things can kick us in the rear.

Just a small bump in the road. Thanks for reading it.
