Successful Niche

Have you ever wondered if the niche you selected is going to be a successful niche? I wonder myself because my niche is about weight loss/belly fat. My website is: https://bellyfat-thebattleofthebulge.com.

I was doing some independent training today about Evergreen niches and I wish I had come across this training before I picked mine niche out. Due to my experiences, military service, and my injuries, I felt my niche was a great one because I know firsthand about it. But I've later found out that the market in my niche is over saturated and due to recent changes of how Google ranks these types of sites, it will be harder to rank.

But today, I found out a little about doing research on niches and to see if they were worth our time in creating a website in a particular niche.

From what I found out, when you select a particular niche, you should go to: Google Trends and search for the niche you are looking to build a website with. You should select the country you want to market to, then do a 12 month and a 5 year search. If both of these graphs that are displayed are increasing or staying steady over the course of 12 months to 5 years, it is a great niche to get involved with.

After you check out Google Trends, then go to Facebook, and put in your niche in the Search bar and click on Pages. If there is a lot of groups in that particular niche and you want to join groups with a minimum of 5K visitors. For people in the Keto diet, for instance, it has steady declined in the past 5 years.

I just wish I had these tools before I decided to pick out my niche. But I will continue writing post and pages to this website. I am on the hunt for some new niches.

I hope this helps some of you out there. If you need any help, just let me know.

Danny

Hi Danny, Thanks for reminding me that I need to utilize Google trends a little bit more - especially with my real estate site that considers home decor trends.

With regards to the site that you are currently working on, is it possible to refine your niche/target audience just a little bit more?

Maybe talk to prior military men? Or maybe prior military men with have disabilities? Or prior military that served in the Gulf War? Or prior military that served in both Afghanistan & Iraq....

Get personal.... Do you miss PT? Have you thought about trying to do PT again to get rid of the belly fat? Or do you consider it a byproduct of age?

I don't know, talk about what every you guys talk about. Provide information and stories and tips that some randomly hired writer from Fiverr, or where ever, is not going to be able to create.

Once you get a following, you can always create a second website or zoom out a little bit to pick up a more diverse set of people.

Well I've had 16 surgeries. A back fusion last July which is my 6th. A neck fusion last March which was my 2nd neck fusion, 3 right knee, 1 left, both shoulders tore out and put back in and a few other surgeries from a failed parachute jump in Desert Storm. I can barely walk much less do PT

Good Tips, Sondra .. as usual, I am usually able to grab a nugget of useful (for me) information from your posts.

Thank You, M'Friend

Joe

Ouch...I'm sorry...

Desert Storm... That was the word I was trying to think of.

When I asked the questions, those were just examples of thing to "talk" about. I'll be the first to admit, I don't do a very good job of thinking like a guy. lol

Surely, there has to be away to refine the niche some. Maybe you can talk about how you manage the pain or how you manage to stay positive. You have never come across as a bitter person, so you seem to have something figured out there.

And then again... if your prefer to completely change niches - that is an advantage of affiliate marketing. I changed mine...My first website was about the best beef ever. I did get offered a free box of premium steaks from one of my readers. My current websites are not remotely close to that topic.

Good luck and again, thanks for the great tips. I want to play around with Google Trends in a little bit.

Thanks Danny

You are welcome

Great information Danny. I wasn't aware of searching niches on Google Trends. Will be for next time. Thanks.

Thanks. It's helped me out

Some great points there, Danny.

Like you, I've picked out niches because I like them and feel I have some expertise and experience to offer.

But we need to be evidence-driven and your tips about Google Trends and Facebook Groups sound like a good place to start.

Thanks Phil. Good luck.

Danny

Cool! Thx!

You are welcome Cris
